E.D. Lynnellen (EDLynnellen) | 118 comments I watched Trumpolini encourage a Chinese invasion of North Korea, extoll the totally awesome asskickability of Russian armaments, and double down on the extortion of protection monies from allies.

The best one was having all the nations of the earth descending on The Middle East to destroy Isis. Although, I've seen that storyline in a book supposedly inspired by spiritual beings serving an angry deity, I hesitate to charge plagiarism.

I'm pretty sure The Bible is public domain.

Thoughts? :}

On a personal level, all politics and religion aside, I'm pretty sure Trump is the stupidest person to ever run for anything ever, which, considering where the bar has been set, is quite a remarkable accomplishment. We are living in peculiar times. It is astonishing to me that, while we all know candidates have droves of advisers and publicists and stylists, Trump - claiming to have the best of everything money can buy - looks like a turmeric-dipped marshmallow and has zero clue about the world around him. I can only hope the circus he is running is just a rating/publicity grab and we are all being suckered into watching his latest reality show.

Will IV (drquadrilateral) I wonder if he actually wants to be President. Apparently he has only a few people actually running his campaign at his campaign HQ. I think it's for attention and to increase his celebrity status even more and he could care less about being elected.

I've been wondering the same thing myself all along. And what campaign staffers he has had, a number have left disgruntled and unpaid as per his typical MO. The challenges the world faces, global socioeconomics and environmental issues, are far beyond his experience and intellect. Unfortunately, his base is at his level too. The challenges are going to require major shifts in how we live day to day, where we get our energy, our food, our consumer goods, how we all live together, where we fit in the world, everything. He isn't qualified to address that, and he is stoking up fear of the challenges we face. It's potentially riot-inducing. But, I would expect that he is making a ton of money from his exposure.

E.D. Lynnellen (EDLynnellen) | 118 comments My biggest concern is where his supporters go if he loses. There's a well armed gaggle of fired up stormtroopers with no supervision at the base of the base ready to "tell it like it is".

I don't think they have any intention of accepting electoral defeat whether Trumpolini does or doesn't. He seems almost irrelevant.

Woe to The Republic.

Yep. While he invents crime statistics and tells boogie man stories, the real credible threat is the monsters he is creating and temporarily empowering/emboldening. I did not realize we had such a cesspool running under the surface. I recognize systemic racism and I don't question for a second that it exists, absolutely it does, but the degree and scope of the hate and ugliness I have been seeing is alarming. And that trump seems to be proud of it, and is openly embracing it, encouraging it, and that the FOP is endorsing him....shit! Stormtroopers is 100% accurate. I have no doubt that what we are seeing is very much the atmosphere of NG 1930.

E.D. Lynnellen (EDLynnellen) | 118 comments Damn straight. The parallels are evident. The pathology is similar. The monsters no longer avoid the light. They relish it.

And we get to watch what could never happen here happen here.
