I am a living ghost, a wanderer in search of my purpose and place...

I'm a cemetery restorer by trade, but my calling has evolved from that of ghost seer to death walker to detective of lost souls. I solve the riddles of the dead so the dead will leave me alone.

I've come to Seven Gates Cemetery nursing a broken heart, but peace is hard to come by...for the ghosts here and for me. When the body of a young woman is discovered in a caged grave, I know that I've been summoned for a reason. Only I can unmask her killer. I want to trust the detective assigned to the case for he is a ghost seer like me. But how can I put my faith in anyone when supernatural forces are manipulating my every thought? When reality is ever-changing? And when the one person I thought I could trust above all others has turned into a diabolical stranger?

LOL ! This reminds of something a few days ago.

I work with 4 fifty something guys. One of them was complaining about something and the other one started singing "Let it go". I was dying I laughed so much. Then I asked him if he had a little girl and he said no why?
He didn't even know it was a song from an animation :D Well none of the other knew either. But all of them knew the song!

I don't know if the detective is good or bad but he seems to have some kind of supernatural thing. He's creepy!
it seems he think Amelia is somehow connected or she's the killer?!
What did that office meant to say " after ...." after what?
What's the presence/ watcher?
is there only one fresh body in the graves?

ACK!!!! You know, I've never been into self-torture, but there are some couples have angst filled relationships that just keep me coming back for more! It's kind of like Daisy and Enos from the Dukes of Hazzard....they never got together...but the show teased us mercilessly for YEARS,..including two "almost' weddings!

Hopefully that won't be the case here. : )

Devlin : I really hope he'll show up at some point and be a part of this book. It wouldn't be the same without him!

Detective Kendrick: I don't want Amelia to be with someone else. I know she said she can't be with anyone else and she's not attracted to him but there was something . What she was feeling could have been some kind manipulation on Kendrick part , I think he's got powers. I can't decide if he's one of the good guys or not.

Natalie Nash: EEEpppp she's one scary person! what was she doing in the middle of night?! I think she was just a witness to her parents death and I don't think the reality was anything close to what Kendrick told Amelia.

The dead woman: Has Amelia seen the dead woman before? what's that glimpse that came to her mind? Past? future? or something else?

the locksmith: what's his role in this? He knows much more and he's very involved!

Angus: Poor Amelia even her dog isn't comfortable around her :(

Darius: He's involved too and there is much more to what he said. He wants something from her and it's not just unmasking the killer! (hide spoiler)]

Also, when Amelia is speaking about the mortsafes & locks did anyone else think back to the last book? Specifically: (view spoiler)[That room full of keys? Maybe Amelia's ancestor was in charge of something big, like keeping track of all the mortcages and the "things" locked inside? (hide spoiler)]

Just a thought that popped into my head as I was reading. : )

Oooh these are great. I imagined them a bit shorter , only a bit higher than the ground so when the girl's hands came out of the ground , she couldn't go any further.

Amelia said the locks in the locksmith's reminded her of her great grandmother's keys so I'm guessing there will be some kind of connection.

I'm on chapter 14.
I don't trust any of the people Amelia trusts not Dr.Shaw nor Essi.

Absolutely! I have to wonder why he's "educating" her so much? Sometimes I think he's a master manipulator and is moving her around like a chess piece. Then there is the BIG question....I'm putting this in a spoiler because it's a hypothetical long term plot possibility. I really have no idea about this, but it's just where my mind decided to travel. LOL! (I'm through Chapter 12)

No she's not over him. What I'm thinking is what if this attracrtion toward him is some kind of manipulation from either Darius or Kendrick himself.

Okay, I'm somewhere in the middle of chapter 7. Enjoying it so far. Darius is one scary dude. Nope, she is definitely not over Devlin.

Maloy , Annali or Stark one of them is Atticus Pope. AT the moment I'm leaning towards officer Maloy, but this might change.

On chapter 28
There is something very suspicious about Kendrick speaking French, both to Angus and Annali.

*keeps lips zipped* LOL! I have SO MUCH I'm dying to talk to you all about, but I'll wait until you're done with the book! All I'm saying it that it's good and I'm going to fangirl all over the place until the next book.

* Was Devlin the Watcher in the Woods? I am about 99% sure he was.
I'm sure he was.
* Who is the Traveler Dr. Shaw was referring to? All signs point to this being Devlin and that is how he was the Watcher in the Woods.
I agree. It's Devlin and because of the secret group(Conjure? is that the spelling?) he's in danger if exposed.
* When Kendrick and Amelia had sex in their minds he stated that was Amelia's doing. Was it really or was Kendrick/Atticus doing it?
I don't believe it was Amelia at all. I got one thing correct in the whole book and that was the attraction wasn't real and just manipulation from Kendrick
* I believe everything Devlin is doing (including getting engaged) is being done to protect Amelia.
Yes I think so too.I want them back together. I really missed him in this book
* I don't think Devlin cares about his finance. At the end of the book Devlin telepathically tells Amelia "be careful my love". That indicates that Amelia still has his heart, not this other woman.
Of course he doesn't :D He's forced to do it

I wonder why he didn't tell her the outright truth. What was keeping him from telling her that he'd been captured and being tortured or that Kendrick is Pope?

The mystery was great (view spoiler)[I didn't see it at all. I suspected that Kendrick wasn't all that good but not even once I thought he'd be Pope.
The only problem I had was the ending. There were so many questions left unanswered.
I would have loved a bit more info about what Annali , Stark and Maloy knew and what they had done and things like that. Maybe a few paragraph with a conversation between these 3 and Amelia. Did Annali remember anything from that night?
When and how Rhapsody got there? If Kendrick had abducted her why was she free and bound? Has she followed her father somehow? (hide spoiler)]

I hate it when Amelia says things like this. It makes her sound like a teenager. It's been a year darn it! Considering she never went through the typical teenage dating angst, it seems she's more than making up for it now.
