Lykos wandered through the promenade of the open area, his eyes stuck on the groups of warriors, each having their instructions yelled at them by the gammas on duty. He could see in the faces he decided to focus on that the were being pushed, and many were struggling. Lykos knew what it wasn't unfair, being in their position less than 3 years prior, but he didn't lack sympathy for them. He always meant to join in and keep himself sharp, see how he compared to the current gammas, but decided today wasn't the day. It'd distract him from the inspection, and knowledge of how safe the pack would be due to the skill in front of him was more important. He felt confident enough from what he'd seen, but worry was still present
( ( We need a Gamma ) )
Lyra always come to the training grounds whenever she can. When she see the young warriors struggling, she knows what she has to do,they reminds her what she has to protect at all cost. Even though the training is hard, their eyes are shining, Lyra smiled at them but what caught her attention now is her sentinel. He is watching the training so intently that he didn't even sense her until she came behind him and tackled him down. "You might be dead by now if I was an enemy,Lykos"
His breath was ripped from him as he hit the ground "while that might be true, they'd need to be stronger than me" Lykos said, using his his leg to roll her over, and taking up position atop her so their roles were reversed. He couldn't hide the small smirk he got during the tussle, and how it might have looked for onlookers, but that mattered little. He leaned back so his weight wasn't restraining her before he continued talking. "What brings you out here? The fluffy bedsheets getting too comfortable, miss Alpha?" He teased
Lyra was shocked at his fast respond but it was to be expected, after all he is her sentinel and one of the most trusted and skillful warriors in her pack. "Oh my my,you like being on top of girls like always,Lykos. If I say bedsheets are not to my taste would you change them for me?" Lyra said giving him a seductive smile.
"Don't get get ahead of yourself, pup" Lykos responded with an almost amused smile, standing and offering a hand to help her up "but really, I didn't think you'd like watching sweaty soldier boys fight each other..." he began, before re-thinking "I take that back, that sounds exactly like something you'd like"
Lyra's eyes turned black, before anyone could respond she punched Lykos in the face "Don't push it Lykos,If you say one more word I will make sure you won't be able to talk for a long time. You are my sentinel but you don't know that I come here regularly. If I die how are you going to lead the pack with that ignorance of yours? or are you still avoiding that topic, you think I won't notice it that you protect me all this time so you won't have to be the Alpha? " Everyone in the training grounds are now silent, they know from the experience it's bad when their Alpha is pissed.
Lykos gently rubbed his cheek. He'd been hit worse, but she had good technique. He was more shocked at how quickly the atmosphere turned from a joking one to a serious one "it was a joke, Lyra. Now, if you'd excuse me, your 'ignorant sentinel' has work to do" he said bowing his head and walking more towards the open ground, I quick click of his fingers indicating to continue the training. Was she actually offended by the fact that he focused his efforts on keeping her alive?
"My dear sentinel, wait a moment. Did you really think you could get away for your ignorance. 50 laps around the ground will be your punishment. Damon (an assassin) will come today,I want you there when he give the report" with that she turned to go
His eyes lingered on Lyra for a moment as she left, before he rolled his eyes. She'd get into the role eventually, but for now her youth kept her as having that 'little queen' syndrome. Regardless, the running would help him keep his fitness as high as he wanted. He pointed to the nearest gamma and asked him to watch and keep track before beginning his laps. He'd talk to Lyra properly later. Clearly she was nervous about something. But for now... 50 laps
Upon finishing the laps, he thanks the gamma that acted as his counter before allowing him to get back to his group completely. He was worn out, but it wasn't awful, so he was impressed with what fitness he had maintained, however limited that may have been. He watched the training for another half hour before taking his leave, deciding he was happy with the impression he got of the warriors there. He took a towel from the changing rooms and slung it over his shoulders before leaving. He hadn't had a run like that since he became a sentinel, so it was like a workout for him
