Ok,so I started watching the show Ressurection, without even knowing in was a book. But now I really want to read the book!I fell in love with the show!Hopeing it picks up for a second season. At first,I was alittle unsure about this show.I mean,I didn't want to watch something that meant be the Devil. But,like the trailer for the show said...This show will definely make you question all your religious beliefs.I love the show, hope the book is as good as the show is!

Are you talking about the french version Les Revenants? Because that was fantastic. One of the rare instances that the show was better than the book ...(in my humble opinion).
I don't know, because as soon as I found out it was a book,I googled it.Both books came up.The book cover is of a blue and pink sky with a small boy.By Jason Mott.I agree that it's rare that any show or movie based off a book is usally not half as good.To much is changed or left out.SO any ways, are Les Revenants and The Returned the same thing?
The basic premise is the same, loved ones returning from the dead. However Les Revenants the french tv series was wonderful, spooky, haunting and beautiful. The book was not nearly as good, different characters and a slightly different storyline. Must admit I was a bit bored by the end of the book. Saying that try them both, you may disagree. X
By the way I remember reading somewhere on here that Jason Mott saw the series and based his book on it. Not sure if this is true but he certainly did not improve upon it.
Don't bother with the book. It wasn't very good and didn't tie up anything in the end. No answers or explanations were given. Very disappointing. The show is somewhat better.
Don't bother with reading The Returned. I could not finish it and I do not usually do that... however there is an interesting show coming out shortly on HBO called The Leftovers based on the book of the same title. The Leftovers is similar yet different in that it deals with the possible rapture and those that are left behind vs being taken to heaven. I have not yet read the book but it sounds much better and the show looks great.
Yeah,I started reading The Returned, alittle hard to follow. The way Mott flips back in fourth from scene to scene.Love the show!Love the chemistry between all the characters in the show. And I know that more characters are added in Resurrection. But the idea was the same between Las Revevants/Resurrection?I was just watching a video and the author of The Returned said he got the idea from a dream. His mother had come back after years, and they had a long conversation about life,Then when he awoke, she wasn't there. But it was as if she had been. One thing is for sure,I get goosebumps from this all.
