The common room for members of the Marauders House. Only Marauders members and their guests are allowed in.

In the commons, which were mercifully quiet and empty, Cove thought over everything that had happened recently. For one thing, he was a Marauder, whatever that meant.

Kiwi entered in silence after nearly getting lost.

He had fallen asleep before Kiwi entered. Waking abruptly from a nightmare, he wasn't sure of Kiwi's intentions. "Please don't hurt me," he whispered.

Kiwi looked at him confused before sitting on the couch "I'm not gonna hurt you." She said.

"Who are you?" he asked. A thought struck him. It was unlikely, but he had to make sure...
"Do you know Iris Sutherland?" He continued. His hands were shaking worse than before.

"My name is Kiwi and I do not know anyone by the name of Iris." She said.

"Sorry," he said. "I was hoping..."
He trailed off.

Kiwi said, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."
He tried to smile reassuringly.

Kiwi said, "Alright." Kiwi smiled in a friendly way.

She looks like Delia, Cove realized. He hated himself for even thinking this--Delia was evil, and Kiwi was obviously not. But he couldn't ignore the memories once they started to come.

All at once, he was mentally back in the compound. Delia, the girl he'd loved for so long, was holding a gun to Iris's head and laughing cruelly, and there was nothing he could do to stop her..

Kiwi stretched and laid on the couch, this was exactly the break she needed. It's nice having a break, although I am gonna write to Trunks about this though. She thought as she sat back up, then looked at Cove "Do you have a piece of paper and pencil?" She asked.

He didn't comprehend her words for a few moments, until the flashback stopped and he forced himself to look at her. "I do, actually." He handed her the supplies she wanted.

"Thanks." Kiwi said before going near a table and began writing the letter. Dear Trunks, I'm here, at the school for a break, just to let you know that I made it without any problems or attacks. She smiled as she wrote the first part.

Cove sat and waited for something to happen. He didn't want to bother Kiwi, so he didn't say anything.

Kiwi kept writing, then looked at Cove "I don't think you told me your name yet." She said.

"My name's Carson, but I'd rather you call me Cove," he said.

"Okay, nice to meet you Cove." She said.

He was surprised that Kiwi was friendly toward him. Not many people were, in his experience. "Oh--nice to meet you too," he said after a brief pause.

Kiwi smiled kindly and finished her letter.

Cove looked at Kiwi. They had just met, but he didn't mind her being there.
There was an awkward silence. "So...how long have you been at this school?" he asked finally.

Kiwi said, "I just arrived a few minutes ago, I'm not use to the peace and quiet but i don't mind it either."

He nodded. "I'm in the same situation. I've only been here for a few hours. Were you happy when you were sorted into this house?"

"Well, I don't know much about these whole sorting stuff but, I guess Im okay, as long as I can get a break." She said as she took off her scouter.

It was getting late. "Are there any empty dorms?" he asked after a few minutes.

"I don't know sorry." she said before stretching.

"That's fine," he said.

Kiwi smiled and asked, "Didn't they tell you where the dorms are?"

"Not really," he replied. "Sorry,"

Kiwi said, "Oh."

There was a bookshelf at one end of the commons. Cove walked over to it, chose the shortest novel on the shelf, and began to read. Even though the book was written at a third-grade level, it was a challenge. He wished that he'd learned to read better, but there had never been an opportunity.

Evenitually, he gave up and decided to explore the Marauder house more thoroughly. "Bye," he told Kiwi shyly, and left.

"I remembered along the way that this is my house too," the young Avatar said. 'So we'll likely be seeing each other once in a while."

Jackson smiled. "Well that's good. It'll be nice to see a familiar face." He looked around. "These houses are similar to those back home. At Hogwarts, I mean."

Ching gave him another odd gaze. 'What is Hogwarts? That sounds like a made up name."

"It's a school, for witchcraft and wizardry," he said proudly. "The best if you ask me."

"Can you demonstrate some of this...wizardry and witchcraft?" she asked with intrigue.

He hesitated, "Well, we aren't supposed to do magic outside of Hogwarts but I've already used it twice today, so I guess. Sure," he said more positively.

"So wait..." Ching paused. 'Why are you here and not there if you're never allowed to use it outside of there?"

"I was granted a pass to come here this year. My sister is teaching," Jackson told her.

"I see..." she paused. ;Well if you're forbidden don't worry about it."

"Nah, trust me. If there was a problem, I'd be in trouble already. What do you want to see?"

"Just...anything. I've not heard of this "magic" before coming here and no one's ever showed me."

"Let me think of something," he said.

Ching stood there quietly, waiting for him to do something.

"I'm not as great at magic tricks as my sister, but I can make things levitate," he said.

"Like...floating in the air?"
