The amazing Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, and the beautiful As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning by Laurie Lee.

I'm reading some crime fiction, He's Gone by Alex Clare. A bit of a slow start so far but hopefully it will pick up. The protagonist is a transgendered police detective (transitioned from male to female) so that's different and interesting.
I've been rereading some Captain Marvel comics, but it's NaNoWriMo so I doubt I'll have time for much else this month, except maybe the Christmas catalogues we're already drowning in :P
Reading Love in Transition by EM Leya. Nice little love story I'm anticipating a Happily Ever After coming up but not sure yet. it's really good.so far and it's on KU so :-)
I'm doing NaNoWriMo too, Eileen! But I've got a crazy number of books going now: The Forever War by Joe Haldeman because I have owned it a long, long time and it is a SF/F challenge book.
Consider the Fork: How Technology Transforms the Way We Cook and Eat by Bee Wilson for a real life book club meeting on Tuesday.
Jews versus Aliens edited by Lavie Tidhar is short stories.
I picked up last week and hope to find a copy of again, The Silent Clowns by Walter Kerr.
The Prodigy by Hermann HesseI found this book by accident in library and it is fascinating.
I was surprised to find secret love affection between two boys in this story. I am still in the middle of my reading, however thumbs up so far!
I finished up He's Gone yesterday and it's really good. Very impressive first novel. For anyone who likes crime fiction - check it out!Now reading a collection of short stories, aptly named Briefs, by Alan Semrow. So far, the stories have been uniformly excellent. They're only 2-4 pages long which is perfect to read on the commuter train.
Today left me feeling very nostalgic so I've cozied up in bed with hot chocolate and Ruskin Bond stories.
His writing is magical: ordinary things so extraordinarily expressed.

I finished Jews vs Aliens-- if you like that sort of thing, I think you'll like it, and Consider the Fork: How Technology Transforms the Way We Cook and Eat. which is a pretty interesting history of how we eat what we eat and cook and how it is made.I'm still working on The Forever War.
