Books I Loathed discussion

I found this the most badly expressed novel about the true horrors of cancer ever. He didn't do a good job of really hitting reality in my humble opinion and after the hype this was a 3 star read for me. Very mediocre. I've not tried any others since. Should I?

I wasn't particularly liking it, but the girl's best friend being an American who spoke deliberately in a British accent had me abandoning the audiobook.
