This is one of my all time favorite books. I read it sometimes when I'm feeling a little down or just don't know what else to read. Elizabeth Bennett is my all time favorite plucky heroine. I remember falling in love with her spirit and sass at the age of 17. I wanted to be her: to my 17 year old self, I was her. Of course, I also fell head over heels in love with Mr. Darcy (and England, for that matter). I feel sure that I did not get the satire and humor on my first read through, but that is one of the main reasons I keep going back to it.

I have told you how I feel about the book, but I have not told you what it's about. Well...there are five million summaries on the internet. Just know that it was published in 1813, it's set in the English countryside, it contains brilliant satire, and it has the best love story ever. 'Nuff said.
