Finishing up Goldenhand (Abhorsen #5) today, the Wise Man's Fear (Kingkiller #2), and working on Magician (Riftwar saga #1-2) still :)
I'm actually in the middle of a few series. I just finished Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. I'm working my way through the SF Dorsai series and am on Other by Gordon R. Dickson and the Fantasy Recluse series and am on Colors of Chaos by L.E. Modesitt Jr.. I also read Larry Niven's Inferno and am set to read the sequel, Escape from Hell.
I only read one book at a time but I'm currently reading the last book in the First Law trilogy by Abercrombie
I'm currently reading children of dune, which is the third book in the original frank herbert's Dune series. I'm also reading Stalin's Biography, writen by Trotzky, although that is much more difficult to read, with lots of things I must re-read and stop to think about. Not much fantasy really, although I have just finished the month read Bridge of birds and found it nice enough!
Ronald, the first law trilogy is amazing, hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

I recently got the first book on Kindle so I can re-read them. I originally read them all in paperback

I'm currently reading Firefight, second book in the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. I really enjoyed the first book - Steelheart, and if you are looking for a fast paced book with smart people taking down super villains, give this a try.
I have finally got around to promise of blood by Brian mccellan and then the thousand names by django wexler. Along with the the books of the south by Glen cook
Ian wrote: "I have finally got around to promise of blood by Brian mccellan and then the thousand names by django wexler. Along with the the books of the south by Glen cook"All great books I especially love Glen Cooks stuff
Just finished Cephrael's Hand which I found REALLY enjoyable https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...and now I'm reading Impyrium which so far is very entertaining https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

I'm reading Witch Hunter
Helen wrote: "Supriya wrote: "I'm currently reading Firefight, second book in the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. I really enjoyed the first book - [book:Steelheart|17182126..."How did you get the Which Hunter to tag like that instead of like mine did?
I click on 'add book/author' just above the content box. Then another box pops up, your the title into it and click add on the relevant book. Sometimes you have to search.:)
I'm currently (actively) reading The Two Towers and The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution by Richard Dawkins. The first one is a part of a group read on the entire LoTR series and the second one I started last year when we studied evolution at school, but never got to finish it, so now I'm just trying to clear to "currently reading" list for 2017 (and failing miserably).I'm also supposed to be reading A Dance with Dragons and Тютюн (Tobacco) by Bulgarian author Dimitar Dimov. It's about a tobacco factory just before and during WWII, I suppose it ends with the end of WWII and the beginning of the socialist regime in Bulgaria. I love both of these books, but I'm behind on my goodreads challenge, so I have to choose my books wisely.
I'll also be starting Six of Crows in a few days, as a group read.
PS. Every time I start naming the books I've started reading I think "why do I do this to myself?!"
I am in the middle of the second book of the Moth saga by Daniel Arenson. I must say I am pleasantly surprised by this series :)

Ah okay I see, need to look and see if this group has ever read the series this book starts The Dragonbone Chair

Ah oka..."
The sister group definitely has.
Six of Crows is so good as is the sequel.
Okay finished Impyrium and since then I've also read Jackaby, Call of the Herald and Inherited Danger. I'm currently re-reading Dragon Wing
I just started Hawkwood's Voyage by Paul Kearney. I haven't gotten very far in it so I haven't formed much of an impression yet. It does seem promising though!

I read this series by Kearney some years ago. Interested in your reactions as you progress through it.

I just Finished Homeland the legend of Drizzt by R.A. Salvatore. I'm onto Exile book two in the Drizzt series finishing Robert Jordan eye of the world and reading storm siren
I am currently reading Rise of Empire, book 2 of the Riyria Revelations by Michael J. Sullivan. I am in the midst of several series at once, which I usually try to avoid, but they area all good and very different from each other, so I will switching among them for a few more months, I think.
Ronald wrote: "Currently Re-reading Tad Williams Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series and currently on book 2"I'm always meaning to reread these.
Kathi, I always enjoy Sullivan's books.
I'm reading A Gathering of Shadows but in recent times I've learnt to multi task so I'm listening to Elantris. In the sister group, we have various challenges set up and one is to read the previous group reads. Elantris is one.
Helen wrote: "In the sister group..."Is that the one for standalones? I had that bookmarked along with this group and then when I went to join it was secret. Is it still and if so, will it ever open again?
The sister group reads alsorts, and there is overlap. It was set up first and this group was created for series read spin offs - I believe. The Group went through a series of spamming and inflated voting, so it now closes during nominations and votes.
I'll change the setting so you can join by email.
I am reading The Name of the Wind and it's sooooo good. I'm about half way through and I'm loving it!
I finished our group reads for this month & am squeezing in a couple other books before March, starting with a sci-fi book, Antagonist.
Sydney wrote: "I am reading The Name of the Wind and it's sooooo good. urrently reading nonseries but will soon continue with The Dagger and the Coin series by Daniel Abraham, I think more people should read his work (starting with The Dragon's Path), they are really well written and told.

Just finished The Spirit Stone for another discussion group, and am starting our March installments, with Child of the Prophecy first, followed by Black Powder War. Then I have 2 more books for another discussion group, The Quiet Invasion and The Curse of Chalion.
I'm actually engaged with three books. Kind of Helen-like not planing to: Fuego en Casabindo, Ready Player One and the month read The Black Prism. I really don't know how to find more time to read even more
Currently reading the second book of the Rivers of London series, Moon over Soho, by Ben Aaronovitch.
Just finished Gardens of the Moon and loved it. Wasn't as confused as I though it'd be. Second time I read it and first time finishing it. The first time I tried it I was so utterly confudes at what was going on so I put it down. Later I talked about it with a friend and he said Erikson basically did that on purpose so I went ahead and tried it again, this time expecting to be confused. It helped. X) Gonna start next book either tonight or tomorrow.Am Also reading Elantris and is a bit meh about it. It's not really grabbing me like GotM did but it's still enjoyable.
Am also listening to The Name of the Wind at work (lorry driver) and I have to say I'm not a fan. Am getting a bit annoyed at how perfect Kvothe is and how he excels at everything he ever does.

Janna, when I was reading the Malazan books, someone told me to just accept being confused and go along for the ride, which I basically did. However, I did read the Tor.com reread blog (chapter summaries and discussion) for some of the more confusing bits, and that helped. It's mostly spoiler free. I have read the basic Erickson series but also have the Esslemont books, which I have not yet read. It is one of the most challenging, thought-provoking, and deeply satisfying series I've ever read. Some storylines worked better for me than others, but overall, I thought it was amazing.
