Rachelle | 157 comments A Churn for the Worse (An Amish Mystery #5) by Laura Bradford

I am calling this my choice as even though main character owns a Gift Shop the story is about her interaction with the local Amish Community and one policeman. A lot of the story takes place at her aunt's Inn.

Rachelle | 157 comments Just listed Mistletoe Murder by Leslie Meier as my book set around a holiday. Lucy Stone works at a mail-order company called Country Cousins. She discovers the wealthy founder of the company dead in his car from suicide but it does not look right to her. This book takes place around Christmas.

Rachelle | 157 comments My book for animal related is Literally Murder (A Black Cat Bookshop Mystery #4) by Ali Brandon. Hamlet is a very intelligent cat. He gives clues by knocking down books. Helps with catching the bad guys. This is one Black Cat that I love. Hope Huck and Finn at my favorite bookstore don't mind as they are black cats that I get to pet.

Rachelle | 157 comments My paranormal book, By Familiar Means by Delia James, is the second book in Witch Cat Mystery series. Annabella Britton is just discovering her heritage as a witch. She joins a coven and is learning how to use her powers. She has a familiar named Alistair who appears and disappears and can get in and out of places without using an open door or window as long as there is no magical lock keeping him out. Automatic writing is one of her powers and her drawings turn out to be good clues to the solution of the mystery.

I wondered if it might have been the mood I was in. I loved the first book. For some reason, I could not get into the 2nd one. I am glad to know that it might have just been me.

Rachelle | 157 comments In To Helvetica and Back, Clare and her grandfeather repair typewriters and restore old books. They run a store called the Rescued Word. It is an unusual occupation but, it should qualify.

Rachelle | 157 comments The Chamber of Commerce of Stoneham decided to sponsor a cruise. Tricia and Angelica Miles and other ts leave Booktown and travel to Burmuda. It happens to be a Mystery Lovers Cruise. As usual, Tricia discovers the body of one of the authors. It looks like suicide but Tricia and the mystery writers on board think it was murder.

This was the perfect book to list under travel. I love of the books by Lorna that I have read and look forward to reading more.

Rachelle | 157 comments I loved Scandals, Secrets and Murder and am considering it a cozy as Devlin Burke is an English invester and sometime sleuth. It is set in the 1890's is Washington, D.C. The police have Devlin's nephew as the prime suspect and as in all good cozies, you know that the hero or heroine will find the real culprit.

takes place in the English Cotswolds and is a British series in case Agatha Christie is not considered proper for the category.
