Thoughts on this new series staring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen..? There is a trailer available..

If the show is anything like the ad portrays, it will be a winner. If the ads already showed the best part, it will be short lived.

That is a good point - there is a possible danger of doing a "freak of the week" formula - since the particle accelerator apparently created more meta humans. That formula could still work, but I hope that (and expect that) there will be more to it.

It's weird, that I have no interest in Arrow, but am looking forward to Flash.

I don't know if that's weird - the tone of the shows seems pretty different - night and day if you will. While I really like Arrow - I am also looking forward to something that doesn't seem like it fits that dark and gritty mold.

I'm really excited for this show to come on! I just love Flash and I'm interested in seeing how they handle the characters in this show! Hopefully, the tone would be a bit lighter from Arrow since I always saw Flash as being a more comedic character than most.

Did we all see Barry on Arrow? Thoughts on that? On the trailer? If you haven't seen it - it's worth a look..

I've seen Barry on Arrow and it was fantastic! I was actually happy that we get to see someone else make an appearance on Arrow!

It looks good to me - better than I figured it would. I like the Flash but you never know what they're try with TV shows. That extended trailer gave a lot of it away

I'm sure the five minute trailer has some of the better parts of the pilot episode in it, how ever, I heard that the trailer was made up of scenes made exactly for the trailer and not particularly any direct episode.
Either way, I was impressed enough to have my jaw drop the first time I saw it. And when I ran it on the big screen with full surround audio, it was incredibly fantastic. The sound was amazing.
I have very high hopes for this series. I'm also not one to watch an episode or two and then say, nope its not for me. I'm a huge Flash fan and the idea that its already crossed with Arrow is a good thing. The creators have finally broken down and are leaving their no real life superheroes hang up on the hook in the closet.
We will be seeing the rogues Gallery.

It would be interesting to see what villains will appear in the Flash TV series besides Weather Wizard!

I think that Grant Gustin stated that (at least one of the trailer scenes) the trailer was filmed after they wrapped the pilot, so Jeff I think that you are correct...
For the villains - looks like Zoom and should have Killer Frost? I have also read talk of Trickster and Pied Piper... I didn't see that "confirmed"

I did read that Captain Cold was confirmed as well

He would have to make an appearance at some point. I would expect Mirror Master as well...

I'm liking who they chose to play Barry Allen as well. What do you think of the costume? Liked the look of it from the trailer

I loved the fact that Arrow appeared in the trailer also! It's definitely a great way to tie the Arrow universe with the Flash universe together!

I was wondering if there would be any crossover characters being regular. She's pretty active on Arrow, though, so I don't think it would be many scenes.

I don't think that will happen, like you said, she is pretty invested in Arrow, and as such I read that her character may be used a little more than she has been. Maybe Oliver will train her a bit so she isn't so helpless in certain situations.

I really can't wait to see the Reverse Flash, he really one of my favorite villains. Mostly because of the costume. I always love the yellow and red and black look of it. I actually have the reverse flash t shirt. I would so be a great bad guy if I had the right powers. lol

OK since this is where new for the Flash on TV is, and incase not everyone knows by now. I have the pilot episode of The Flash and I have seen the whole thing. Its incredible and awesome. Its done so well that its no wonder the top overseers at Warner didn't hesitate to green light the full season.
To anyone that knows a good history of the flash and his stories, without giving anything away, you'll will be totally awestruck at some of the things they show and hint at in the ep.
For those that have reservations about the Dark Red costume and the way it looks, fear not, there is a reason and explanation of it that makes totally sense.

The best thing I can say about this show ,is that its visually pleasing, great effects and just plain fun to watch. This is the show that between it and Arrow, if Warner is going to introduce any other heroes and shows into the mix from this TV universe, this is how they should all be based on.

Any questions on the Flash pilot go right ahead. I've watched it like four times already.

Wish that I could have seen this early. Okay - what is your opinion on (this version of) Iris? I ask, as some other reviewers don't seem to care for her, but like everything else

Want to report that Robbie Amell, brother of Stephen Amell, (Oliver Queen /Green Arrow) is going to be playing the hero Firestorm/ Ronnie Raymond, in a recurring role in the Flash series.
It will show that Amell's character was at the heart of the Partible Accelerator when it exploded, giving him the powers of Firestorm.

That means that we can expect to see a lot more DC characters than was first believed.

Also, I will tell you that there is one of The Flash's most notorious nemesis in the pilot episode but you don't actually see him, but you will know he's around and will turn up eventually. It totally blew me away.

It's coming on tonight, but I won't be able to watch the premiere until at least tomorrow. Have a friend coming over. Argh.

Wow - great show. I think that I really geeked out a few times there... Barry against Clyde, seeing the powers - talking to Ollie... man, this is awesome.

The Flash I think is one of the single best premiere pilots I have seen so far. AS much as I love Arrow, The Flash will be the one until they do the next spinoff.

I agree! I just loved everything about the pilot episode and I hope things get better for the Flash show!

With so many Easter eggs that the show runners dropped into the pilot episode and the news of other heroes and villains showing up, its almost better than waiting for a movie.
Im sure almost everyone by now has seen the pilot, so instead of me naming them all why not everyone put in their two cents about the hints that were dropped in the show. I think it might be fun. There was a lot of obscure things too.

I really loved the way that they remained faithful to how Barry Allen's mother was killed by a mysterious flash of light and how Barry Allen got his powers when he was struck by lightning.

right before his mother was killed you got to see the two different streaks of light which is the flash and reverse flash fighting each other in the future barry trying to stop professor Zoom from killing his mother.

also one of my favorite easter eggs was seeing the broken cage with the name plate hanging which said Grood. that was hot.

Oh yeah! It makes me think if they are planning on using Gorilla Grood in this series!

Okay - the Mardon brothers - Mark and Clyde. In the comics, Mark is the Weather Wizard - here we have Clyde in the role... Anyone think that Mark survived the crash as well and will be the second Weather Wizard? Not unlike Sara being the new original Black Canary?

I don't know how they will handle Grodd with the tv budget, but I'm not worried.. I think that the effects are great.

Me too! This is shaping up to be one of my most favorite shows this year!

They just added to the rogues gallery "the pied piper". Of course if they follow suit, he was one of the only enemies of the Flash that actually went good and became friend with the Wally West Flash.
It would be nice to see that happen.
And as For Ray Palmer (The Atom) showing up in Arrow, he might not be seen in costume yet, though they do have one for him, I've heard that his alter ego The Atom may actually show up on The Flash, since they were Brave & the Bold team up quite often. At least that is being bantered about.
