Litsy Reading Challenge 2017 discussion
WELCOME!!

Kimberly, they all have the same prompts on them. I believe they just rearrange them whenever you refresh the page. It's just a fun way to track what you've accomplished so far!

I noticed that too about the same prompts, but thought I'd double check. Thanks for clarifying!

Sara, the bingo card itself is just for fun and to help you keep track. There are no incentives to finish first, or complete it at all. It's just for fun!

Sounds fun! I'm always in the market for new authors/books!

I like to spend a little time researching each topic and plan out 1-3 books for each. That way I have structure and options throughout the year! That's another reason why I decided to add hashtags for Litsy and a discussion thread for each, so we can talk about which books we find for all the topics!
Also why I decided to post this a month before the start of 2017 :)

Yes, they all have the same topics, but each card will be laid out differently. Only 1 is needed! :)

Hi everyone!!! After a suggestion from the lovely Kimberly, I have started to add shelves for each topic!
Sometimes it's easier to browse a shelf than read a discussion thread, so I liked Kimberly's idea of having both.
I haven't gotten all the shelves up yet, but feel free to start adding to the ones that are there! And please let me know if you run into any problems trying to do it - send me a private message!
Thanks everyone! :) :)

All shelves are up! Feel free to add titles to the shelves as you go along, it will help us all pick what we want to read for that topic!

Er, it says "Only moderators of this group can add books. " Is there a way we can all add to the shelves?

Maybe a folder for the reading challenges, and another folder for welcomes and introductions?

I do a little of both when I do prompt challenges like this i.e. I look for prompts that fit books I've already read (e.g. that I read for a book club) and also choose a book from my own shelves/TBR to fit a prompt. I find this is a great way to direct my reading and to help me decide what to read next when I feel overwhelmed by all the choices I have.

Hi Ellana -
Not sure what you mean by folders, but there are discussion threads for each topic as well as a "Who are you?" thread to introduce yourself and share your Litsy handle!
There are also bookshelves for each topic for the group members to add their suggestions!

Yes! This is a challenge for 2017, so technically we should all be waiting. I posted it a month early so everyone would have time to get their reading lists together and plan :)

You can create a folder...
Discussion -> New Topic -> Add a folder
That way you can have a folder for the challenges, and a folder for general stuff (introductions etc.), just so we don't have to scroll through 20+ discussions to get to the new welcome posts ^_^

I think it's great fun to be goodreads friends with other people doing the same challenges, so feel free to add me as a friend if you like to do that too.

I've set up this challenge as a Bingo board - 24 prompts, with a "Free Space" for whatever you choose. You can get your board here: http://mfbc.us/m/pew4j
(Please let me know ASAP if the link isn't working!)
Each prompt will have a hashtag associated with it, so you can search it on Litsy to see what others are reading as well. For example, the first prompt will be #LitsyRC1 and the 12th prompt will be #LitsyRC12 (and so on).
#LitsyReadingChallenge
#LitsyChallenge2017
There is a separate discussion post for each prompt - please share your ideas there!
