Haha, right?! That's a note to myself too. I was in high school and reading MUCH different books than I am now, and unfortunately I recorded all of those books here on GR... Wow.
OMG The Name of the Wind!!!! I had no idea that was published so long ago! That's on my immediate TBR... as soon as my husband is done reading it... He won't stop dancing around wanting to talk about it.

Thanks for sharing the link. Looks like I'll finally have a reason to tackle The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, which I've been putting off & putting off (apparently for 10 years) because I don't want the series to end.
Wow, I have weirdly read a lot of books on the 2007 list. A couple are on my current TBR, so I will probably go with either Unwind or Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
Oh Ali Smith's Girl Meets Boy is from 2007. I might read that one. (But also I really want to go through my huge tbr-pile and look if I have books which fit the prompts before going out adding more to the pile :D )
So many great books from 2007! I'm leaning towards the Name of the Wind or the Yiddish Policemen's Union. The Yiddish Policemen's Union
The Name of the Wind
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
Song for Night
The Double Bind
Scatterheart
So many books in 2007! So many I've read, and so many I want to read. Great Bingo Square! I'll try and narrow down my choices, but I own
Garden Spells
Tallgrass appeals to me too
and maybe I can finally pick up In the Woods!
I do want to read The Name of the Wind, but I would sure like to see him finish the trilogy first before I get invested. I'm going with The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because it's been one I have wanted to read for a while.

Margie, that's such a good choice! It may be the best book that I read this year.

Another endorsement for The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. Excellent book and a quick read! I think it was announced recently that they're making it into a movie.

Oh how that made me laugh! I know, my kids are 21 and I still have trouble wrapping my mind around that one!
I'm going with Still Alice. I received a copy in a subscription box and I need to get to it! The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian and The Name of the Wind are great choices!
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao is one of my favorite books and I've been thinking of a reread. But there are so many great books in 2007! This might actually be an easier square than I thought!

That's so funny, I was actually thinking the exact opposite - that this was going to be a difficult square! I feel like I've read so many 2007 books! I'm thinking of going with Then We Came to the End

I have The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao in my TBR, so I think I'll use that. I hear about this book all the time, so I thought it was newer! I second the recommendations for The Name of the Wind and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. They are both excellent. I'll add Thirteen Reasons Why to my recommendations. I worked with a group of 8th graders who were reluctant readers, but they devoured this book. It's a good and thought provoking read.
Thank you so very much for choosing this as a bingo square - "a book published 10 years ago". Had this not have been part of the challenge, I would not have picked out The Rain Before it Falls. This was a fantastic read for me! It was so heartbreaking and sad but it was beautiful at the same time.
I read this way back in June, but just now realized it qualified!
Darkfeverr (Fever series, #1; by Karen Marie Moning) - This is a paranormal romance thriller featuring 24-yo Mac, an American girl who sets off for Dublin, Ireland to push the Garda into further investigating her sister's death. Once there, Mac discovers that she has heretofore unrealized special abilities, i.e. the ability to see through the glamour of fae; "and then the murders began..." This book is all sorts of stupid with a spoiled girl protagonist with a spectacular lack of imagination for someone who claims to read; lack of fact checking for a storyline set in a post-9/11 world, and a sense of incompleteness. It's not like it really ends on a cliffhanger, so much as it feels like half of the book is missing. (★★)
So yeah, it was a book that I loved to hate, and it was with a certain amount of perversity that compelled me to read the next three in the series; but at book #5, I just couldn't stand it anymore and returned it to the library after having only read a few pages :-/
