This started with wonderful descriptions of the family’s way of life & the location. But I was less interested in the various romances, especially as I did not really like one of the main characters.
I read this in high school and felt the same way. The beginning was so great, though. It’s what I continue to remember.

I don’t know about Archie. But I agree I was disappointed by the end of Sons & Lovers, though not particularly surprised. He seemed to be very selfish, so made decisions for himself without caring much about the effect on other people.
I know the book title included “Sons”, but I would have liked to know more about the daughter’s story. She only got a brief mention at the end.
