Interested in a group read? We could divide it into five parts. It's published in five episodes or chapters.

I know my library has a couple of issues of one of the graphic novels, but whoever buys the books/ebooks makes weird decisions about which books in any series to get. Like, I'll buy book 3, book 7 and 8.
Hi Orient: if I can get my hands on Body or Work, I'd love to. Let me check when I get a break later if my there is aCopy at my library.
I read it but just re-ordered from the library. I want to be able to discuss it and visualize the art again. You all want to separate it into book 1, 2, 3, etc?

My library doesn't have them and my local bookstore is showing only book #1 as published??? If I did e-books, they are all available. How can that be?
Hmm. I know the graphics for Body Work are published--I read the compilation in bound paper form. Maybe the edition?
Wanda wrote: "My library doesn't have them and my local bookstore is showing only book #1 as published??? If I did e-books, they are all available. How can that be?"Hi Wanda, I bought book 1 on kobo's site. kobo has books 1-5 available (each $8.99 Cdn), with book 6 available for preorder.
Haha, you don't know how cheap I am, obviously. I have the cheapest flip phone on the market, no internet capability and although I've been considering getting a tablet, I need a new stove first! It will be a while. :)
:) I've been relying on the library more and more. Accumulation of books, cost to buy, space to store and just an unwillingness to spend money on books I'll read once of mediocre quality.
I just noticed that I sound crazy above -- words in the wrong order. The only reason I got access to the Aaronovitch books is because I got access to the the books in the neighbouring town (we're in the same region, so I was able to get a card for that library. )
Ok, Orient, Lata and I are ready to go... Caro? Wanda? Did you give up on the book until the library has it?

I'll likewise see if I can find this at the library. I'm definitely interested. Are these just adaptations of the novels and follow the same plots? Or are they new stories?

It's sort of filler stories, although they're all quite independent, it seems.
Agree with Caro. I read Body Work and it was basically a short Peter-centric investigation that didn't have much bearing on the overall series plot or anything but had guest appearances by different characters and growth for one side character. So I think of it like ongoing or smaller cases in their lives or a chance to showcase other characters. Sounds like Night Witch has to do with the Russian witch. I rather like her, so I'm looking forward to that one.

Of course you are!! That's the think about graphics to me--why stop? Just a few more pages and you'll be done. :DI read it awhile ago, but I thought I'd re-read and discuss with you! I don't do many graphic novels, so it'll be fun.
I'm really looking forward to reading these, I love seeing different representations of characters. I'm curious to see how the images in my head compare haha. And to be clear, these don't need to be read after any of the books to prevent spoilers or anything?

I don't think they'd spoil much, more like tease you to read books, it seems. Although I just finished the first one, so it's hard to be sure.
I look at these as short stories about Peter & friends. A five issue comics series is not going to have the space for a complex plot. Unless the artist is extremely talented, the art will struggle to convey subtext (the artist on these is what I'd serviceable, but is not one that that really adds to the narrative).

Yep, got the first one from the library but will Amazon the rest, graphic novels require old school physical
I bought the first one just to see. Know I buy every one. The scenery artwork is superb. I know the area where the Folly is supposedly situated quite well.
