DC on TV discussion

This isn’t the first time WB has used an actor for multiple projects. Ezra Miller is working on two WB films now, The Flash and this year’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Billy Crudup did a phenomenal job in Watchmen, so it only makes sense that WB wants him back for another superhero project.

Recently, we’ve seen Henry Allen in The Flash television show, portrayed by John Wesley Shipp. Coincidentally, Shipp portrayed the Scarlet Speedster in the 1990s CBS series that is his namesake- another example of WB/ DC reusing actors.

The Flash is set to begin filming pretty soon after Justice League finishes its principal photography. It will be the fifth film in the DC Extended Universe, and the first solo film after the Justice League forms in 2017.

Aside from Billy Crudup, the cast for The Flash includes Ezra Miller as the titular superhero, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Jai Courtney reprising his role as Captain Boomerang from Suicide Squad. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of The Lego Movie, will write the film, with Rick Fumiyama, director of Dope, directing the film.

Kind of like that they are carrying over Boomerang from Suicide Squad, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the TV Flash.

So glad I can walk away from the DC movies and still have good live action stuff to watch with the CW.
The Arrow/Flash 2 parter with Savage and the Hawks was all I could have wanted in a live action JLA.

I'll see a Flash movie (enjoy the show and like the character), but it's not something I'm ultra excited about.

So, is this movie still a thing?
Seems like nobody is talking about it anymore.

I don't know, I think how bad Justice League may have cast a shadow on some of these

Yeah, there was this grand list of a dozen DC movies and so many of them have just vanished and no body seems to even ask about them any more.

This was in 2018 though so not sure any new news -

The standalone Flash film is now expected to commence production in late 2019. That likely means the superhero adventure won't debut in theaters until some time in 2021. The Flash movie has had a long gestation. ... They replaced “Dope” director Rick Famuyiwa, who left the film in 2016 over creative differences.
