Anonymous Review #1: At the beginning, I didn't think I was going to like the book. Hannah, the main character, is not immediately likeable. She is self-doubting, jumps to conclusions, and seems to be "needy". The pace seemed to slow. If it was made into a movie it would be full of flashbacks. However, at about mid-point in the book, suspense begins to build and it was hard to put the book down.
Before We Met would be appropriate for a book club discussion. Both Hannah and Mark had mothers and brothers that had influence on their outlooks on life. They felt their mothers were weak persons. The brothers affected each of them in a different way. I think Hannah and Mark individually felt they each did not deserve their spouse. Hannah's idea of what is important in life changes during the story: having a profession and being independent, to having someone to love and share one's life with, trust, and finally back to being an independent person.
Anonymous Review #2Excellent book- While I was aware of polygamy, I had no real understanding of its history. Putting something of the historical part made it easier to read and also kept it interesting. I had to keep reading to find out what would happen.
Anonymous Review #3Liked the book. Writing reminds me of Mary Higgins Clark. I would like to read her other 2 books. Thanks for the Good Read!
