Jane Jago - shut up and write
The feet that still look like hands covering a face to me! I need to shut up and write, but the words are sticky today, so I'm here bug you and Dog instead. ;)
Hola Jane. I've always wanted to ask you this.. how on earth do you manage to publish so many goods so quickly? Do you have drafts lying around or are you superwoman?
Alexis. I've been writing for years. So I have bits and pieces and drafts and stories all over the place. Now I don't have a paid job any more I can get around to them.
The feet we know and love! Hi Jane! And I know what you mean about writing. It's a joy to be a writer... even when I'm complaining about writer's block.
Jane wrote: "Amanda. Dog is my dog. He's a hooligan.Dwayne. Dog says hi. And thanks for liking my wee book."
I kinda figured, but wanted to make sure. haha. Classic name! I likey:)
Christina wrote: "The feet that still look like hands covering a face to me!"Me too! Even though I know full-well what they are haha!
*fist bumps Miss Jane*
Way to confuse ppl and add an air of mystery ^_~
Confesses that the feet aren't a clever ploy, the photograph just happened to be hanging around when I felt the need of an author pic. Bunged it in. Was going to change it. Shan't now because it has kind of become me.....
I had a Christmas story doing a brain worm in my head. So I wrote it...It's now on my Goodreads author blog for anybody who would like to do me the inestimable favour of reading it.
Just for fun.
Happy merry and bright
SueSam. Brain worm evicted. Place taken by another even shoutier one. I think this one is fat and hairy...Christina. Muchos gracias....
And I read the story. It was good! It made me want to post my own. So I did. I really liked the twist at the end of your story. Not gonna spoil, but it was COOL.
Jane wrote: "Alex just wrote an interesting review. Gonna ponder his points..."Jane, I agree with Alex on the cover but that seems to be your particular style, no?
Man, that Christmas story.. what a horrifying ending, lol!
Alexis wrote: "Man, that Christmas story.. what a horrifying ending, lol!"LOL! Horrifying? I thought it was a happy ending! XD
The curse of the verse. This is what happens when your heroine is having such a difficult time that you can only bear to write it little by little. You get brain worms. Fat hairy brain worms. Limerick brain worms.
*sighs*
A poet was feeling so screwed
That he tore all his papers in two
The dread seventeen
Was turning him green
Coz he just couldn't write a haiku

There is a group here called Shut up and read, so Jane is their counterpart. :)

Alexis wrote: "Hi Jane. How come your book "Shall we gather at the river?" doesn't have a blurb on goodreads? :)"Alexis. I don't know where that went. I've reinstated it now. Thanks for alerting me.

*grins*
Just a quick happy, merry and bright to all my Goodreads amigos.I'm on my third brandy and life is sooo smooth.
This little book of short stories and subversive verse is free on January 1 & 2.
I hope some of you will pick it up and enjoy it.
Life isn't always bitter, but it isn't always sweet and it has an uncanny knack of biting your backside when you least expect it. This little collection of stories and verse is the author's response to the banana skins we all have to negotiate and to the unexpected bonuses that balance the scales

A very strange thing happened today. Extremely modest downloads put the wee book at number one.....Admittedly it's a wee category, but I've never been numero uno before.
I had to have a large drink
Congrats, Jane! Oh and, if anyone over here in dot com land wants to grab Jane's book:

So... many... jokes...
Must restrain... no.. lost the battle. It happened. I tried, but it happened...
I am never going to write a wee book, that isn't my fetish at all. But I am glad you had a big drink first, you need it for that.

Gratitude to our rockin' mods. (An allusion that will sail right over the heads of any young person reading this. Sadly.)
I'm lost! Where can I find the Friday the Thirteenth promo?

This is a couple days late, but congrats! That is awesome!
Just had to share this. My 77-year-old sister is reading 'Who Put Her In?'
She called me up to say she really liked the story - but the language is appalling. I got a thorough bollocking. Baby sister in the wrong. AGAIN....
And then. ..
A review on Amazon calls Mr Smith the best short story the reviewer had ever read.
I'm thrilled and humbled.
