Must you always cause trouble? ;-)

Yeah um? Do you mean the sequel? Considering I suffered through the damn C-book!

Ela | 4291 comments Ela: An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur

message 9: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Now I have to find one! I was going to use something (already forgot what it was, lol) but it wasn't in the 1900's. What was that book--OMFG I can't believe I can't remember!!

message 10: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Oh yeah, it was the S. Fanetti viking book.

If anyone enjoys perusing shelves to search for ideas, I'd love for someone to give me some from my shelves!

If the book is marked 'read' but there's no rating, more than likely, I haven't read it.

A couple of years ago, GR moved about 1000 of my 'to read' books to my 'read' shelf for no reason, and it takes forever to try to batch edit IF it doesn't lock up, so I've never gotten them all moved back.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Robin wrote: "I'm going with Amityville Horror LOL."

Which one Robin? I ran into a handful when I tried to look up the book.

Anna Penwick (annapenwick) | 166 comments If anyone enjoys perusing shelves to search for ideas, I'd love for someone to give me some from my shelves!

Jean | 1658 comments My January read is going to be Remember When Remember When (Remember Trilogy, #1) by T. Torrest

Sorry that was me attempting to reply to R.(Nay?) asking for decades theme help. I'm not sure I want to pick specific books for each theme in advance. I'll probably end up changing my mind.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Robin, I still don't know the author of Amityville to post it.

An Exaltation of Larks is turning into a pretty solid BR for January.
Jan, Ela, Grey and Lisa. I'm about a third of the way into it. It was so sad, I had to take a break. If I don't finish in December, I'll join the rest of you in January.

message 17: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments It's by Jay Anson, Fabi.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Posted. Thanks Robin.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Great idea with the thread, Fabi.

My January read will be A Song Begins by Mary Burchell.

Can I confess that I get confused somtimes because I think of Robin as R and Nay as Nay. If I knew you in IRL I would have a hard time not calling you two by those names.

message 20: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I get confused too Lol. If something cool is said, just assume it's me. That's what I do.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments sheesh, where is Amy. She picked the theme. :-)

message 22: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Starting An Exaltation of Larks. Where are my buddy readers?

message 23: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Hey Ela my friend, I'm right here with you. It's Jan 1 in Australia and I've cracked the cover (digitally speaking) of Exaltation of Larks. Liking it so far. (I'm at 4% LOL). Already started to feel a bit emotional at the end of the third chapter (Albacete).

message 24: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I am starting tomorrow...and can hardly wait!!!

message 25: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Excited for you all--I think you'll love it!!

message 26: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Annnd I still have zero idea what I'm going to read for January....

message 27: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Hmmm R. Maybe you could just go with the susan fanetti book. The idea is to tackle our out-of-control tbrs so we can be flexible on the chosen books. It's a decades book, just a lot of decades ago LOL.

message 28: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I've already stated Remember When and I'm having flashbacks! Jordache and Zcaviricci jeans, Love's Baby Soft body spray, and ribbon braiding barrettes. Yup, I'm showing my age! One thing, I had no idea this was actor/small town girl story (even though they knew each other before he made it big). I feel like one is going to give me the stomach pains!

You guys are gonna love Exaltation of Larks!

message 29: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I actually bought myself a bottle of Love's Baby Soft off Amazon earlier this year...it made me so damn happy!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments OMG I used to love that stuff when I was a kid. My very favorite!

message 31: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I'm loving my book choice already and I've had it since 2013!

message 32: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) LOL Jean. That's awesome.

message 33: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Jan--that's true!

But Anna gave me the idea of From Sand and Ash, and Jean gave me the idea of Remember When, and I'm liking what I'm hearing about it (I have a feeling you and I are about the same age, Jean!)

I'm also considering Before We Were Strangers by R. Carlino (I *think* that fits), but I may have already read it.

I remember that my friends and I all wore the LBS Jasmine in junior high (for some reason, I've always had an aversion to anything with even the slightest baby powder scent). I'd forgotten all about that stuff!

message 34: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Renee, From Sand and Ash is epic! But yes, I'm loving Remember When too! (Dare I reveal my age? Ummmmm, 48.....Remember When starts in the late 70s)

message 35: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yup, it's close, although I'd rather be your age! I'm 50.

message 36: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I don't really want anything as heavy as From Sand and Ash right now, so Fabi, will you please put me down for:

Renee: Remember When by T. Torrest

Thanks!

message 37: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Yay Renee!

message 38: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments It takes place in 1986 Natasha, so I definitely think you could include that one! I loved it!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Perfect Natasha. I added you to the list above. :-)

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments R. yours is up there now too.

Isn't this the coolest thing ever? Look at all the books we're reading.

message 41: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments Thanks Fabi! I'm blowing through On the Island today, then I'll start it!

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

R, yours looks like it give me nightmares.

Tasha....that book. Love. Park!

MichelleS, that one is not in my tbr but on one of my lists. Except scares me cause sounds heartbreaking.

message 43: by Robin (new)

Robin Hill (robinhill) | 1528 comments I'm hoping it gives me nightmares! I love a good scare!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Hahaha Robin and R.(Renee) You guys not only confuse us with the name switcheroos but also yourselves.

Renee's is new on the list.

message 47: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Ela Grey and Lisa my EoL buddies, how's it going? Has anyone else started yet? I'm at 26% and liking it but got a bit bogged down. Then I got sidetracked by some Susan Fanetti (hello,Lisa) and now the new KA rock chick story has fallen into my inbox :/ What's a gurl to do?? Story of my life, I think. Ah well, we have got the whole month to read it, I suppose. I WILL get back to it.

message 48: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
