Rashia | 237 comments Amaray's target was littered with small paper drawings, covering half the target. She took the final shot, breathing out on her release. She quickly ran over to collect her arrows.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Abel pulls back the string to the bow, aiming towards the middle of the target. He's only been here for a week and everything has gone batsh*t crazy. How have things gotten so out of hand? How in the world is he the son of Eros? He takes in a breath and releases, letting the arrow fly. It smacks right into outer yellow, almost going into the red. He frowns as he wasn't wearing a guard and the string came back to smack him right in the forearm. He turns his head slightly before grabbing another arrow, noticing a girl was there, collecting her arrows a couple rows to the left of him.

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray flinched when she heard the smack of a bow string on flesh, glancing out of her right eye to find another camper practicing. And failing. Didn't he know you always check to make sure you have a guard before you shoot? She smirked slightly and she pulled the salvageable arrows out and put them back in her quiver, crumpling the papers and throwing them all neatly into a near by bin without even looking. She retakes her stance and decides to show him how it's done as a child of Nike should. When she let her arrow fly, it impales itself dead center of the bullseye. She kept her surprise inward, only lowering her bow. Of course she knew she was going to hit the red, but dead center?

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

He looks over while putting on a guard. Was she challenging him? He smirks as he picks up another arrow and draws back the bow string. He aims, breathing in, then releasing when he breaths out. He hits the inner yellow, dead center. He smirks as archery training did have some use for him.

message 6: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray looked over and tried not to take it as a challenge. But when your mom is the victory goddess, you kind of take everything as one. She focused back on her target, aiming again. She could either hit the target in the center again aiming a little to the right or something, or she could try something from a movie. Best not to try it and fail. So she plucked an arrow out of her quiver, drew back on her inhale, and released on her exhale. The arrow hit right next to her other one. Not dead center, but it was still in the center ring.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

He picks up another arrow, trying not to laugh as he shoots, hitting it right next to the other one. God, this would go on forever unless he gives a grand finale..

message 8: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray realized it too, but wanted to see him try to make a spectacle. Her next shot was like the last, hitting in the center circle. Her curiosity got the best of her and she glanced at him. Who was he? A child of Apollo, Ares? But not just children of Apollo were good shots, and not all children of Ares liked to challenge everyone. So who was this guy?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

He looked over, scared this wouldn't work, but of course, his stupid self did it anyway. He loaded his arrow and aimed up towards the sun. He squints and shoots. He pauses, then thinking of the fact that one of them could in fact be impaled. He looks up for the arrow, only to hear a thunk behind him. He turns around seeing that his arrow went through the table holding the bows, quivers, and arrows. That wasn't what he wanted, but it looked cool enough..kinda.

message 10: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray started giggling, smothering them with her hand. She walked over to where the arrow had pierced the table. She pulled it out, pouting slightly when she saw it was broken. Oh well. She tossed it with the others, moving back to her target and pulled back her last arrow. She made sure to put as much force on the string as she could without snapping it, before releasing. It flew towards the target, faster then she could process before finally splitting the arrow all the way to the left right down the middle. Not as impressive, considering she was aiming for the center one, but she still did it. She turned to him with a quirked eyebrow and a smirk.

message 11: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 30, 2016 07:48AM) (new)

He smothers his laugh as he gets another arrow, hoping that he could pull this off and he pulls back, aiming at HER target. He breaths in and releases. It flies straight and snaps her middle arrow in half. His eyes widen, not actually expecting that to work. He smiles, containing his gee, and looks at her seeming to say with his eyes 'You're move.'

message 12: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Oh it was so on. She refilled her quiver, trying to decide what to do. He had already done miserably once. If she just kept topping him, he had n reason but to submit. Now, what to do....She checked to make sure no one was coming, glad no one else was using the archery range. She fixed her stance and drew back two arrows. Breath in, and out...she watched them both fly at his target, slicing through two of his arrows like in Brave. She gave him a look like, Checkmate.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

"I can't do that again" He says laughing. But he picks up three arrows, hooking them in. They wobble a bit, but he finally gets them into all their positions. He turns his bow so it's sideways and turns his head to he isn't looking and he draws back, not very gracefully, and shoots, with only two of his arrows going into his target and hers. Defiantly not in the middle, but it looked cool as it hit the red, which was close.

message 14: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments As she almost let a retort slip by her tongue, she realized she hadn't really talked since coming to camp. Or even since...She shook her head to clear it, notching three arrows like he had. She moved to the right position and watched as her three arrows flew. One to his center, one to hers, and one to the target in between theirs. That one missed center, but it still worked. Her eyes widened slightly but she quickly changed her expression to mask her surprise.

"I feel like now you're just showing off" Abel says laughing and lowering his bow. He walks over to the table placing the bow down and walks towards her. "Not everyday I meet someone who's better than me at archery" He comments and holds out his hand. "Jacob Black" He says, letting the lie slip easily from his lips.

message 16: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments For the first time in a long time, words slipped easily from her lips. "Oh, so if some is better then you they're showing off?" She smiled at him teasingly, chugging a few gulps from her own bottle. "Amaray." She shook his hand, noticing his heartbeat was off as her fingers coincidentally found his pulse. She made no comment on his lie, deciding if his name was something he didn't want people to know...whatever. His past was his, and camp Half-blood was a place where that didn't matter. She pulled her hand away first, removing her bow and quiver from her back.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

"Nice to meet you Amaray. I mean, not in these circumstances cause I may have lost, but still" He gives a charming smile, and leans against the table, half way sitting on it. He raises an eyebrow and says "So where did you learn how to shoot?"

message 18: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "My grandfather. He used to teach it before he retired so he bought me a bow and some kiddy arrows and taught me how. Then you know, my school had an archery club." Amaray shrugged, titling her head. "Where did you learn?"

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Mostly school, they had some classes and I just got into it, trying it at home. You're skills are really good, you're grandfather did a good job with teaching you. And your parents did a good job too. You're very beautiful" He says, turning the above lie into a compliment.

message 20: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray noticed how he twisted the focus back onto her, but she simply stored the information away for later. "Thank you." She pulled out her loose pony tail, fixing back up with a few quick movements of her wrist and a hair tie. "How's your arm? I know you forgot your guard earlier."

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ah very vigilante too" He says with a charming smile. He turns his arm over, poking at the raw red skin. "I think I'll live. I may need it amputated" He says with a frown. "I guess I learned my lesson though. Last time I forget an arm guard"

message 22: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments She grinned, rolling her eyes at his dramatic analysis. "You'll be fine. But yeah, even with an arm guard you can get pretty bruised up." She removed her own, seeing a small bruise forming on the middle of her forearm. She might not have even noticed it if they hadn't been talking about it.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

"We may need to amputate your arm too" He says sighing and shaking his head. "What a shame. I bet you liked that arm too" He says, soon letting the act go and giving a little chuckle.

message 24: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray pouted. "It was my favorite arm, actually. It will be a grave loss for me..." She met his eyes and could stop herself from laughing lightly, moving so she was sitting on the table.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

"That's a shame. To bad it'll have to go" He says shaking his head. He lets a smile slip by and he laughs. "I loved my left arm but don't worry afterwards I'll be all right." He pauses, then laughs at his stupid joke. "I meet a pretty girl, then make the worst. Joke. Ever. Score one for the stupid side of me"

message 26: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Through her laughter, Amaray just got out, "Then it's one point for all of you!"

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Abel buries his head in his hands, moaning. "God that was the worst joke ever. This just got really embarrassing. I swear some of my cheesy jokes aren't that bad"

message 28: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Oh, so there's more jokes!" Amaray put her chin on her palms as her elbows rested on her legs. She grinned cheekily at him. "Okay, if you can tell a good joke, I will redeem you for your cheesiness."

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

"Crap! You can't just put that type of pressure on a guy!" He says smiling. "Okay what do you call a fake noodle?" He says almost face palming. Out of all the jokes in the world he chose this one.

message 30: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray had to smother another round of giggles. "I don't know. What do you call a fake noodle?" She tried to remain expressionless but he was just so flustered, the corners of her poked through and twisted up a little.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

"An impasta" He says laughing once again. "God that was really cheesy again. I just need to stop, no more asking for jokes I'm clearly not good at this"

message 32: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Hey, at least this one had sauce-stenst." Amaray flinched at her own failure. "Yeah, neither of us are very good at jokes. You are redeemed if you never mention that joke again, capiche?"

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

"Pffttt" He says laughing at her own faceplant of a joke. He holds out his hand. "Done. Never mention this to ANYONE" He says shaking his head.

message 34: by Rashia (last edited Dec 30, 2016 04:26PM) (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Agreed." She let herself giggle at the ridiculousness of what just occurred. She shook his hand.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

"So, little miss good at everything. Who's your god?" He asks, leaning back a bit as he looks at her with an eyebrow raised.

message 36: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Nike." Amaray tried to not sound proud, but it slipped through her voice. "So technically goddess. Who's your parent?"

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

He saw no reason to lie this time, "Eros" he says with a shrug. "And can I just say, no wonder you won. I think I count that as cheating as having the goddess of VICTORY on your side"

message 38: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Well I'd say we're even since you're dad's job literally involves shooting arrows at people. I'd call that cheating." Amaray smirked at him.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'm not the one who won" He retorts sticking his tongue out.

message 40: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Apparently you're not the mature one either." She poked him, giggling at his childishness.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

He mockingly puts his hand to his heart and acts wounded. "You're words wound me, how cruel" He says acting pained.

message 42: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Apparently I didn't do too much damage, your mouth still works. Though I do think your brain got damaged a little...." Amaray's eyes twinkled, smiling widely. This was the most she'd talked in a long time.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

"No mostly my ego, I think my brain got out okay" He starts, and then does a body pat down. "I still have all eleven fingers so I think I'll survive" He smiles as he checks his hands.

message 44: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Why do you need fingers? I think you'd shoot better without them." Amaray raised an eyebrow at him.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh that hurt, but at least my elbow doesn't go up to the sky when I shoot" He retorts with a chuckle.

message 46: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Amaray flushed red. "Even if my elbow does, at least I got my target. You hit the table. In the most fabulous fail I have ever seen, might I add."

message 47: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 31, 2016 01:57PM) (new)

"I totally meant to hit the table...and I thought it looked majestic!" he says laughing as he touches the hole that the arrow made as it dive bombed into the table.

message 48: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Oh it did. But you didn't." She realized they had been talking for a while and she was actually, enjoying this. It felt weird to have a friend. Or at least a potential one.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

"At least I didn't look like a chicken" He says back laughing again. "And I ALWAYS look majestic" He comments flipping his short hair.

message 50: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "That's debatable." She finally gave up on her long hair staying in it's ponytail, shaking it out after she released it. She ran her fingers through it, wincing when they caught on a knot.
