Team Literally Literary
Your itinerary is
here
When you have a team name, just let me know and I'll update this thread name :)
First stop - Santa Cruz De La Palma (Spain)
So just to get you started...Your first stop is Santa Cruz De La Palma, Spain
You can choose as a team to:
TASK
- Read books set in Spain, or by Spanish authors or
- Do a spell-it-out of Santa Cruz De La Palma or Spain
OR
You can elect to do the detour, which for this stop, means that four of you need to "Read a book with an average goodreads rating of between 3.51 and 3.99"

agreed
Gavin wrote: "Michelle wrote: "I vote to do a spell it out of Spain"Ditto. Santa De La Cruz is way too hard."
Just keep in mind that for maximum points for tasks you need 6 people to contribute to the task (and Spain is only 5 letters). So if you want to play for points you may want to do the detour on this stop instead ;)
---------
Points
TASKS
◈ Completing a task will earn the team 10 points AND
◈ If at least 6 members of the team read a book that contributes to the tasks, that is an additional 15 points AND
◈ If ALL team members read a book for the time you are at the stop, that is an additional 10 points
DETOURS
◈ Completing a detour earns the team 25 points AND
◈ If at least 7 members of the team read a book for the detour, that is an additional 15 points AND
◈ If ALL team members read a book for the time you are at the stop, that is an additional 10 points

Since we're seven people and Santa De La Cruz is 13 letters, each of us will have to read 2 book, with one person reading 3.
Let's divide it out:S
A
N
T
A
D
E
L
A
C
R
U
Z
I can do D and L from what I'm reading at the moment. Are there any letters that work well for you right now?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...I added to the spreadsheet that the Moderators created for us.
In a group I was in before, we kept track of everything through Google Docs and it worked out extremely well
Do you guys want to keep track on that?

awesome, I added to the spreadsheet too. I was reading the rules, if everyone reads a book we get an additional 10pts
Oh yeah, Michelle, pls add the names of the books you're gonna read to the list. Seems more neat and orderly that way. Anyways, good night! See ya guys tomorrow!

The Giver I cab finish pretty soon, though I won't be able to read as much, since we're traveling at the moment.
Nice! One of the things my group did before was have a section for "banked books" that we could use for future challenges. I think it would be good to create one of those as another tab on the spreadsheet that way if we read more books before the next stop, we can easily find and use them.
Yeah, that's a great idea!Btw, how do you edit the spreadsheet?
When I click on the pencil sign it keeps asking me to download Google Spreadsheets, which I already have.
I click on the pencil and then it says to get the app so I click get app, even though I have it, and it takes me to the App Store so I click open and it pulls it up. I can add everyone to it via email also if that's easierHave fun in Rome! Jealous haha
Gavin and Megan, I'll let you know what I think :) I haven't started it quite yet. I have to finish 8 books by the end of the year, so I put myself on a reading schedule to make sure I knock out 8. I'm supposed to be done with Angela's Ashes on the 21st and I'm starting Throne of Glass the 22nd and finishing on the 26th. Megan, I'm not sure about Throne of Glass (obviously), but I read A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury and absolutely loved those books. Maybe you could try those and see if they're better for you?
P.S. LOVE Literally Literary ^^

Sorry I won't be able to help with the spreadsheet. I'll just work on the list here.

If you can keep track of the regular list, I'll keep track of any "banked books" we have. That way if we read ahead, we can potentially use them for future stops
