I am excited to be reading both of the series we are starting in January, and both are first time reads for me--Temeraire and Sevenwaters. I used a gift card to order the last book in the Temeraire series so I now have them all, and I didn't know Severwaters had expanded beyond the initial trilogy, so I order the last 3 books in that series as well. Early Christmas for me, and excited to be joining both discussions!!

Helen | 2 comments I read the first Temeraire with the sister group some years ago. I love a book present Kathi, any time of the year :)

Helen | 2 comments I'm really looking forward to the Killing Moon.

message 4: by Margret (new)

Margret I do believe the library has both series in audio so I am hoping to be able to join in as I try to make sense of my housework :)

message 5: by Helen (new)

Helen | 2 comments Excellent plan. My library has rubbish audio books, well for our genre.

message 6: by Margret (new)

Margret It's spotty at best, mostly dominated by YA books so that gets old after a while

message 7: by Helen (new)

Helen | 2 comments I looked right through fantasy and sci-fi. It's best books are Harry Potter, then it's children's books.

message 8: by Margret (new)

Margret We love a neglected genre. I've been irked several times by the lack of must-reads.. they have Gemmell but only the Troy series, Riyria but only the chronicles, and so on

message 9: by Helen (new)

Helen | 2 comments I enquired about it, as in hmm I'd like another audio could you recommend a fantasy one? What about Darren Shan!!

message 10: by Margret (new)

Margret Isn't that the Cirque du freak guy? Sigh...

message 11: by Helen (new)

Helen | 2 comments Yes! So fantasy, so epic!! I've done Potter, so I'm out of choices now. There are some very young children ones. I joined audible last night :)

message 12: by Margret (new)

Margret I love audible! My favorite narrators are Michael Kramer, Simon Vance, Michael Page, Tim Gerard Reynolds and Khristine Hvam (although she hasn't as many titles under her belt)

Helen | 2 comments Oh great, thanks. I've just discovered A Christmas Carol free!!

I would look at the group home page. I think we are starting with these 2 series, one book from each series each month. That will take us through half the year, since Sevenwaters has 6 books, and Temeraire has more. I don't know what series will take Sevenwaters' place in summer.

After Sevenwaters, we have The Killing Moon, which is just a duology, and Homeland, which is a trilogy

Thanks, Maggie. I will be reading the Drizzt trilogy with the group since I have it in an omnibus edition. Good motivation for me, since I've not read any Salvatore before.

Jeana Budnick | 9 comments Hello.

I'll be joining in on the Sevenwaters series when we get to book 4 as I've already read the first 3. I do have several of the Temeraire books so I could join in there too :)

Join in on the discussions anyway. It's always nice to hear perspectives.

*Layali* (layalireads) | 10 comments I'm so glad we will be reading Drizzt later on this year. I read the first two in the trilogy last year, and absolutely adored them. Can't wait to get to the third one.

And so far, I am adoring Temeraire! Really excited about all the series reads this year.
