I don't know how anyone could put aside their resentment easily. Other than allowing him to visit anytime Eleanor isn't around, it doesn't sound like she has given him any allowances in dealing with their daughter. It doesn't sound like he takes her to L.A. for the weekend or anything like that. It seems to revolve around Eleanor's schedule. So, in that area, I don't believe he is doing too well. Now that he has decided to go back to the LAPD, it will be even harder to keep up his relationship with his daughter.
I really just don't get Eleanor. All Harry ever did was love her so I cannot understand why she hid this child from him. She seems to like that he wants a relationship with Maddie but she doesn't make it terribly easy. He can't help but be resentful.
I've actually progressed to hating Eleanor. Keeping Maddie a secret from Harry for so long, and then not allowing him proper visitation is selfish and cruel. There is no good reason for her actions, and she is hurting not only Harry, but Maddie as well by not enabling her to develop a meaningful relationship with her father. This might come back to bite her when Maddie is older and learns of her mother's actions.
I'm still at intense dislike but get your progression. Yes, she's going to have to answer to an older Maddie and won't be able to justify her behavior.
