johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 7675 comments The film takes place after the events of The Wolverine and features the cast of the original X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class. The story inspired by Chris Claremont and John Byrne's X-Men comic book storyline "Days of Future Past", features Wolverine going back in 1973 to prevent an assassination that, if carried out, will lead to the creation of a new weapons system called the Sentinels that threatens the existence of mutants - and potentially, all of humanity.

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 7675 comments I've only watched the first X-Men film. D: I really need to watch the others.

johanna (jo) (johannad_m) | 7675 comments Cyclops is mah fave. So far. He's great. :D

message 6: by Marlene (new)

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) Cyclops is awesome. ^_^ So underrated. Just a warning, his character is completely disregarded in X-Men 3. That movie was trash on so many levels. At least, that's what I've heard from my brother.

Marlene Ocampo (seeyouspacecowboy) This soundtrack is hyping me SO BADLY for First Class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt5iY0...

Whaaat, really? D:
We're going to a conference this weekend; I'm getting out 2 and 3 to watch on the road. ^_^
So it goes X-Men, X-2, The Last Stand, and then First Class & Days of Future Past? And then Wolverine is somewhere in there . . . ?

Anna M. Watson | 98 comments THE TOPIC I WANTED! YAY!!!!! ok here's the order you need to watch them in, Johanna. X-men 1, 2, 3, Wolverine Origins, First Class (BEST), Wolverine (the newest one), Days of Future Past. I think that's all of them.

And yes, Cyclops is great. X-3 sucked.

DoFP IS SERIOUSLY SO GOOD.

Maaaaaaybe I just really like young Xavier (James McAvoy)...but mostly I think it's because the stories for First Class and DoFP are so good and the acting is wonderful. Oh, and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique!!

I agree. Quicksilver was absolutely great for comic relief in a rather intense movie.

Anna M. Watson | 98 comments Wolverine Origins could be switched with First Class, but it's not as good, so just watch it first. haha The original trilogy isn't actually that great...The first one was good but maybe too short. The second was fine. The third was terrible. FIRST CLASS THOUGH

Well, the first one was made in 2000, and movies were generally shorter then. And I think the first one was amazing because it changed how people looked at comic book movies. This film came before even Spiderman, so it was a pioneer. The first film accomplished a difficult task - setting up the premise of the X-Men for future films, and helping people to understand it.

The second one was also extremely good, because it took the ideas of the first and built upon them. Wolverine's backstory, the uneasy alliance with Magneto, NIGHTCRAWLER HNNNNNNNG, the struggles between humanity and mutants, Stryker's bitterness, and yeah... much good.

I think we all agree that the third one was crap, though. XD It was a different director, and the new director was just obnoxious and unskilled.

Anna M. Watson | 98 comments I think maybe it was the third one that just ruined the whole thing for me. I do like the first one a lot. I don't remember the second one that much. Maybe if I watched it again I'd like it better. :)

Captain Cheesecake (cheesecakeisawesome) | 27 comments I like that one sene where the fast guys saves the day and it's in slow mo!!!

That was a pretty cool scene, I'll admit. Especially in 3D. :)

Lauren Stoolfire Quicksilver stole the movie!

Jazzy (stairstepjitters) | 155 comments I love Quicksilver and the Professor. I found it amusing though that they quite literally created this movie to fix what they messed up. Like, "Guess we didn't make that movie right. So, uh, time travel! Who's up for time travel?"
