I actually started the year with a really fast read, Fungoid. I highly recommend it! Will be posting my review tomorrow.
Have you set your yearly challenge yet? I am going for one book per week, hopefully that will be doable.

I haven't set any numbers yet, but one book per week sounds good. For January, as usual, I'm targeting to finish my current read, plus a few others. Which should give:
I like to shoot for two books a week, so set a goal of 104. It's no big deal NOT to make it, though. In January I want to finish Miracleman, Book One: The Golden Age, read Dark Matterand American Gods and reread The Graveyard Book.
After that, I'll just let mood take me where it will. That's my favorite way to read.
Yep, I also like to set a number and aim for it, it keeps me motivated. But if I don't make it then I don't make it. Or I could just read shorter stuff, we'll see!
I am now reading In Bitter Chill and when browsing Netgalley I found that the sequel was available for request. Mine was approved so I will most likely read A Deadly Thaw this month as well.
Ana wrote: "Looks good, looking forward to hearing what you thought of Authority."I've started the book. Right now, I am enjoying it much more than Annihilation. If you remember, I didn't really like that one.
I managed to read 9 books, 2850 pages in January! I am so proud of myself eheh.

I really enjoyed most of them too!

Congrats!
Thanks, Kandice! I am trying not to feel discouraged whenever I read people went through 20 books in January ahah
I actually did read quite a few in January, but it didn't feel like an overall satisfying list.

Oh wow Kandice that is a LOT!
I really liked a Monster Calls.
I'm glad to see Dark Matter disappointed you as well, everyone I came across seemed to have loved it...

Wow, that's an impressive list Kandice! And nice one Ana too!As for myself, the list is not really the same as planned, but there were some fantastic discoveries along the way. It might seem long, but there are actually a lot of short stories in there.
All in all, that were some quite nice reads. There were some real pearls amongst them, such as The Cartographer Tries to Map a Way to Zion that I absolutely loved, or Hunger that is really impressive, but I enjoyed all these books one way or another.
Kandice wrote: "I very much want to read the series that Authority is part of."Well, I didn't really liked the first book, but I was intrigued enough to continue. I enjoyed this one much more. The feeling of the two books were a bit different, which might explain the difference in enjoyment. The first one was more of a pure horror book, whereas the second one is more of a mystery, a genre I usually prefer. Although there is quite a lot of weirdness in the two.
Now, I need to get my hands on the third one. I'm quite curious about how it is going to turn out.
