The Deadly Dance , one of the many Agatha Raisin books. I seem to be addicted to finding out what cockeyed thing she is going to do/say/think next.
Shockingly, I'm not reading any cozies right now! That will change, though, when I finish my current print book :)

January I'm reading:
Lighthouse Library Mystery series
By Book or By Crook by Eva Gates(#1)
Booked for Trouble by Eva Gates(#2)
Reading Up a Storm by Eva Gates(#3)
I've started off the year with:
Third Time's a Crime by Diana Orgain
Pop Goes the Murder by Kristi Abbott
I have Assault & Beret at the top of my library pile, so I have to get to it in the next week or so. Right now, I've just started Scandal in Skibbereen, and hope to finish it in the next day or two.

I've started back on the Cacklebury Club books so Eggs in Purgatory
is my night time read at the moment!

I have just gotten back to the Liss MacCrimmon Series by Kaitlyn Dunnett:
Ho-Ho-Homicide (Book #8)
The Scottie Barked at Midnight (Book #9)
E wrote: "Just started "Geared for the Grave" by Duffy Brown. I love starting a new series."I read that last year and really enjoyed it. I hope to read the second book in the series early this year.
Just finished Tonya Kappes recent Southern Ghostly Series, can not wait till end of February for the next book. And I'm down to two more chapters in Inspector Spector by E. J. Copperman
I read
by Y.S. Lee. The book had been on my tbr for years and I finally got hold of it. It's the debut book for the author and there's lots of potential for growth. I look forward to reading the next book.

Last night, I finished Musseled Out, by Barbara Ross. I was frustrated by Julia's indecisiveness during a lot of the book, but appreciated the lack of TSTL moments. I'll definitely continue the series, but probably won't get back to it for awhile, as I have so many other series in progress.
This week, I enjoyed:
Kitty Kitty Bang Bang by Sparkle Abbey
Silenced in the Surf by Kate Dyer-Seeley
This week, I finished an ARC of Uncorking a Lie, which was a good story, but I got really tired of the TSTL behavior of the MC. I don't remember that being an issue in the first book of the series, but I've made a note to myself to keep an eye out for in the next book. Why do authors think readers enjoy that stuff??
I also read and enjoyed Assault & Beret, the latest Hat Shop book by Jenn McKinlay. This installment is set in Paris, but so many of the regulars from London showed up in this book, I had to look up the distance between the two cities to see if it was practical -- even with a company jet!

I pulled out one of my Cozy Mystery Books tonight and I am going to be reading
This is called The Calamity Cafe by Gayle Leeson.
I already had this on my Bookshelf in my bedroom so for a fun easy read this is what I am going to be reading. This is Book #1 in A Down South Cafe Mystery Series.
Happy Reading...
I've been on a marathon, it seems, of Diana Xarissa's books; The Aunt Bessie series and also the Markham Sisters. Just finished the first of the Isle of Man Ghostly cozy Series. I've enjoyed these very much. They are interesting and I knew nothing about the Isle of Man before I started these. Fun reads and you will probably get hungry so keep a snack handy. I am anxiously awaiting the next in the Aunt Bessie's and also the Ghostly series. Not available til February and April I think.

The characters are great and real!

I just finished reading #13 and #14 of the Meg Langslow series by Donna Andrews. What refreshing fun to catch up some on this comedic mystery series!
I just finished The Skeleton Takes a Bow, the second in the series by Leigh Perry. I love Sid's character and personality, and I like the way the clues are there for the reader to pick up on and not just a "secret" conversation or piece of paper that the sleuth is privvy to but not the reader.
This week, I read and enjoyed:
A Palette for Murder by Sybil Johnson
Cat Killer by Sandy Dengler (Don't worry, not cats appear in this book, much less are harmed. Cat is the nickname of the murder victim.)
Just got done with "A High End Finish" by Kate Carlisle. Started "Murder She Barked" by Krista Davis last night. So many firsts of series I want to start! My brain doesn't want me to jump in the middle of a series lol
Tari wrote: "My brain doesn't want me to jump in the middle of a series lol "I feel the same way, Tari. Unfortunately I got ahead of myself a couple of years ago and started waaay too many cozy series. Now I'm trying to go back and continue with some of them rather than starting any new ones. It's sometimes tough to remember the stories, though, after waiting so long. Luckily I write pretty comprehensive reviews to help.
I'm reading Assault and Pepper. It's set in Seattle's Pike Place Market and gives a good sense of the area. It does make me feel like drinking some spice teas :)
Not necessarily a cozy, I am reading Deborah Crombie's newest, Garden of Lamentations. I love her work.
I've read pretty many this year so far, currently reading Grimm's Furry Tail by Kathi Daley since I'm in a series of book discussions on FB. Love this quick-read series!
