What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

In the year 2000, in a library, I read a children’s’ picture book, about a hen wanting to become a dancer. The hen learns the lesson that she can do something if she really tries hard. The book is one that can be read to children. Pictures of the hen dancing and a hen house are included. A similar book is about a kangaroo but it is not as colorful. It was a well read book and the library no longer has a copy.

Well, the kangaroo one is probably Josephine Wants to Dance by Jackie French.

Justine Clarke has a song The Dancing Chicken.

And google throws up Chicken Dance by Tammi Sauer.
