Emmett was walking through the park and had just relaxed since he had finished eating and was in a pretty good mood. It was late out but he didn't mind. He hated traveling during the day since even though the sun didn't hurt him he still found it harder for his senses to take over.
Matthew strolled into the park a couple of minutes after Emmett entered. He had been walking around just trying to enjoy his day, and not let being hunted endless bother him, well 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰 then usual. Matthew sighed still thinking about that, not noticing where he was going and accidentally bumping into Emmett. 𝘚𝘩𝘪t, He thought to himself hoping this person wasn't a foe. "Sorry about that, I wasn't looking where I was going.
Emmett turned around and blinked not realizing that someone had been walking close to him. It was not a human that was for sure! He turned around and looked at the person that ran into him. To his surprise it was not a human. "It's alright. It happens," he said though there was a surprised look on his face.
Matthew also had a bit of a surprised face, 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 He thought to himself. Matthew was scratching the back of his own head, with an awkward smile. He scolded himself mentally, 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘢𝘴𝘬 Matthew sighed, knowing he'd probably regret saying this. "You're not human, are you?"
Emmett couldn't help but laugh a little since it was ironic. "No, I'm not," he said. "But I get the feeling that you aren't either," he said. "Am I right?" he asked figuring it was okay to ask since this stranger had asked first.
Matthew looked around the area they were in, making sure nobody was around before he answered. "No I am not, nice to meet you Mr." Matthew smiled for the first time in a while, he was glad this person didn't want to kill him to.
"My name is Emmett," he said sticking out his hand to shake the stranger's. "It's nice to meet you too. I will admit this is my first time meeting a non human," he said. "So what are you? If you don't mind me asking," he said.
Matthew accepted Emmett's gesture, gladly shaking his hand. "The name's Matthew." He smiled. "I am a vampire, and you Emmett?" Matthew asked, not really telling anyone he was a vampire.
"Me too," he said honestly shocked. He had never met another vampire before that wasn't a female. Especially in the society that they are in now. "I have to say I was not expecting to meet another vampire around here," he admitted but was glad anyway.
Matthew sighed. "I can't help agreeing with you on that, also same to you I was not expecting to see another vampire." He said honestly.
"Yes. So what brings you to this place?" he asked since he was used to being here by himself. Not that he minded the company, he was just curious.
"I just wanted to stroll around the park, it's such a nice day..." Matthew looked up towards the sky in slight wonder. "...I couldn't help but come outside."
"That's true, it is nice out," Emmett said with a nod. "Have you eaten yet? If not, I know a great place to find....well food," he said since he had already eaten and didn't know if Matthew had or not.
Matthew sighed. "I could eat, where to?" He asked, looking back down towards Emmet, hoping the place was as good as he hyped it up to be.
"Follow me, it's not far from here," he said turning and walking towards the city lights. "When was the last time you've eaten?" he asked curiously. "Not that it matters, I just don't want any problems with the humans," he said simply.
"If you're talking about 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵, about a month ago...." Matthew answered. "..So i'm fine." He followed Emmet towards the city.
"Oh that's just fine," he said with a nod. As they walked there was a small place right outside of the city. "This place has anything you could possibly eat! It's one of my favorites when I'm not looking for trouble," he said.
"Sounds good." Matthew followed Emmett, occasionally looking around to make sure they weren't followed, or that anyone had seen them. "So, how's life being a vampire?" He asked, not really knowing what to say or ask.
"Honestly, I can't complain," he said. "It's hard since there are tons of humans who would rather I be dead. I'm sure you know how that is. But if you are careful and don't ask for trouble then you'll be fine," he said. "I haven't been a vampire for very long but I like it," he said with a shrug.
"I can't help but agreeing with you entirely on that, being a vampire for years, i'm used to that." Matthew sighed. "Noone gives us a chance, not our fault that damn queen hates men.." He snarled, but quickly calming down.
He nodded, "It's not! And I hate it. We are honestly in the worst situation and no one seems to get it," he huffed in agreement. "I mean I like that I have better senses but sometimes I can't help but think that it would be nice to change back," he said.
"Yea, sadly that can't happen.." Matthew sighed. "..I put you in my little tantrum, sorry about that." he sighed, still following Emmett. "I wish I could go up to that damn manor and fucking....." Matthew didn't continue, because as a vampire his emotions tended to be more fiery and unstable, so he stopped as fast as he could. "Sorry again."
Emmentt glanced at him and knew that it couldn't be helped. "It's alright," he said. "You can't help but feel your feelings," he said. "I know sometimes I feel that way too," he said. "Don't beat yourself up," he said when they got to the place. "Here we are," he said stopping.
Matthew sighed. "Yea, you're right.." He looked up to the building. "Nice place..." 𝘓𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘸. Matthew thought to himself, he had always seemed to think the worst would happen, maybe he was a pessimist. "Shall we go inside?" Matthew asked.
"Sure," he said opening the door and stepping aside so that Matthew could go in first. "Just don't stare at anyone for too long they may get offended," he warned since there was some weird people that came by.
Matthew smiled at his gesture on letting him go in first. "Why, thank you." He entered the building. "Weird people, eh? Not that surprising.."
"Yeah," he said walking and shutting the door behind them. "Take a seat, the food is to die for!" he said sniffing the air even though he really wasn't all that hungry.
"Alright, I trust you, don't go killing me now." Matthew stifled a laugh, going to sit down at a nearby table in the corner. "What do you recommend Emmett?"
"I won't," he said with a laugh. "It depends. If you like seafood, then I would recommend the coconut shrimp. If you don't like seafood then definitely the t-bone steak," he said thoughtfully. "Of course, you could always try the special too," he said seeing that it was some sort of soup. But it's up to you."
Matthew shrugged. "I'll just have what you have, I don't have a preference." He started to bite his fingernail, a habit he always had throughout his life. "Not many people come by here I see."
"No it's not really known but many," he said. "And that's why I like it so much," he said. "I guess I will have the steak," he said with a nod.
"That's good to know...anything weird ever happen around or in this place?" Matthew asked, trying to make a conversation, something he was not that good at.
"Not really. Unless you count fights," he said looking around and not seeing anyone mean looking. "But I don't think that will happen today, all of the weirder people aren't here today," he said relieved.
Matthew's eyes lit up when he heard the word "fights". "Hmmm..? Fights? That's...good." He smirked for a second, before looking up. "I guess i'll have the steak as well."
"Yep. There are some people that will just go up to someone and punch them. For no reason! It's really funny since they just fight without even having a reason to," he said with a laugh.
"Sounds interesting, it'd be a shame if that would happen now, it's been such a nice day." The sarcasm was extremely clear in Matthews' voice. "You ever got into a fight with someone here, Emmett?"
"Maybe," he said with a shrug. Then he laughed, "I didn't start it if that's what you're wondering."
"I'm just hoping some idiot doesn't come over here, it'd be very bad for them." Matthew sighed, smirking a bit. "Alas, some people can't be helped.."
"I don't think so," Emmett said thinking. "If they did...well they would deserve what's coming to them," he said when he saw that the food arrived.
Matthew grinned. "They would indeed.." He took his plate with his food. "Looks good, I hope it tastes good as well."
"I think I can trust you." Matthew smiled, cutting a piece off of the steak, putting it into his mouth. "It's really good." Matthew said after swallowing the piece.
"What did I tell you?" he said as he ate more of his steak. "So how long have you been a vampire if you don't mind me asking?"
"Years, you?" Matthew asked, continuing to eat more of his steak. "You said, you haven't been one for long, so how long would that be?"
"Honestly, it's only been at least a year. But I did lose track so it could be more," he said thinking for a moment unable to clearly remember.
"No need to stress out about it, it's fine." Matthew finished his steak within a couple more minutes. "That was good, best meal i've had in a while."
He nodded in agreement, "It is really good," he said. "I know I probably shouldn't say this here, but it's especially good with blood," he said lowering his voice a bit.
"Oh, is it?" Matthew asked, intrigued. "Sounds good, that's for sure." He grinned slightly. "Don't get me like that, now I feel like I need some blood.." Matthew lowered his voice as well.
