I can see this kind of style being picked up by the indie game developer scene, if it hasn't already. (I'm not huge into gaming anymore, so.)
It is creeping into cpmedy and creeping ionto your tent...it obviously has about as much future as we do: no no future
Garden of Delete is suffused it...that guy is capable of a lot but chooses to do that with it and from a certain perspective it superb yet already out of date gloriously making it "of its time" paradoxically

Worth remembering the role of Hiroko Kasahara, voice actress, singer and Occultist...the original founder of Tokyo Black Lodge whose work on "the overflowing cup" was rediscovered years later...
Heya Justin,
Sounds clandestine but could you say a few more words about the Tokyo Black Lodge and "the overflowing cup" inquiring minds are inquiring. Are many anime voice actors into the occult like Hollywood celebrities are rumored to be?

It's probably best not to say too much about it in public but there's definitely a scene :) More might be revealed at some point later this year...
My book Metrophilias is free until Friday or Saturday or something like that... I mean, the e-book is...Link: http://a.co/aq4Kt5y
Thank you for sending me Brian Stableford's work. Enjoying it. I love the lecture, and particularly the mention of Leon Bloy and J.K Huysmans as indispensable precursors.
No they are not. Which is why we posted here as we would rather, if there is such a list, it to not be too over-run by tentacles.
I'm not too bothered by people putting whatever they want on these lists as definitions are always a bit slippery; but I personally wouldn't associate it at all with tags like "weird fiction" as this seems an entirely different track or tack...there were a number of submissions to the anthology, for example, from people who clearly thought that this what it was about, so stories set in secondary fantasy worlds and this kind of thing...I don't see this as being Neo-Decadent or Post-Naturalist at all.
There is an outrageously long and intimate look at Neo-Decadence, and specifically, the anthology Drowning in Beauty, at Dennis Cooper's blog:

You know, it's too late now, but one thing I'm kicking myself over for not including in it is some kind of recommended reading list. But maybe that's for the best, it was starting to run long anyway!
Well, it would have just been a variation on that I suppose (with some of the more dodgy ones removed, ha ha.. lose the Mamatas and Eugene Thacker for starters!).
Right... I just meant is there anything missing. Obviously some of those are totally misplaced (maybe even purposefully!)
How so?Of my books, I think the ones that firmly fit this term are Metrophilias and Miss Homicide. And, maybe even more so, a recent novel that has not yet been published.
Not saying these are masterpieces, of course.
But do you mean, there can't be a "new" decay?
If there can be a post-modernism, though, I don't see why not.
new "improved" old spice. with a fresher Fiji scent....

NEO-DECADENCE: 12 MANIFESTOS is now available for order here. The early 21st Century: a gilded age of pious guilt, poison nostalgia, environmental collapse, unchecked pandemics, corporate franchises, workshopped creativity and personal brands. Standing against the Neo-Passéist tide, Neo-Decadence presents a total reformulation of everyday life. What is the vertical table? Why is a sex helmet indispensable for all assignations? What is the proper spirit of electronic gaming? Covering fashion, cooking, architecture, occultism, poetry, gardening, and other areas of concern to all young people, the present volume is the ONLY resource for those wishing to shrug off the cerements of late capitalist literature and art. If you’ve ever wanted to proudly commit commercial suicide while serving your own head on a plate as an offering to your inner daemon, consult this collection of manifestos—as much a personal style guide as it is a declaration of uncompromising aesthetic war.
Contributors include Quentin S. Crisp, Brendan Connell, Damian Murphy, LC von Hessen, Jeremy Reed and more
NEO-DECADENCE: 12 MANIFESTOS can now be ordered directly from Snuggly Books here.12 MANIFESTOS has also just been featured on Dennis Cooper's blog, with photos of all contributors and generous excerpts from all 15 (yes, it is actually more than 12) manifestos. So check it out here. This should give some idea of what it is about, for people who are still wondering.
Finally, all-purpose fashion-forward arts site THE AITHER has given it an insightful review as well. Check here.
