I honestly don't know. As I remember, he figured out who she was, but didn't know where she was. She was such a presence in his mind, I think he would have eventually sought her out. It think he always thought she would come back.
He was so unsettled by not only his nightmares but Amy's disappearance, I think he had no choice but to seek her out.
I think he would have or at least try. It was eating at him not knowing where she is or if she was safe.
He also knew she felt she was in danger and being the hero he is, Dallas needed to make sure she was safe.
I think I may be in the minority about this question: Dallas still had his head in the darkness and felt he was doing her a favor to stay away, and he intended to do so.It makes sense that Amy went to the only place she felt safe, and she nearly missed him. Of course, then, we would not have had this story ;-)
I agree that Dallas was still in a very dark place. But, when Amy left, she was a very broken person and Dallas was really concerned about her being on her own.
