Are there any tropes you think people should avoid when writing a novel because of how the readers feel about those tropes nowadays (due to over-usage and/or the lack of realism for said tropes)?

I hate it when disabled characters are cured, through magic/love/whatever and for no good reason. This trope isn't too common, thankfully, but it's still annoying and ableist.

Heather (heatherlovely) | 5 comments Oh goodness, yeah I agree with Raevyn. That's awful, though I can't think of any examples at this moment. To be honest, I like most tropes. I like the comfort of them. I don't like it when a nice character all the sudden becomes evil but there was not a transition period or any signs of it. Very unrealistic and I hate it.
