I just finished reading this like 3 days ago... the ending left me speechless. I still have to collect my thoughts to write a review...

Barbara (lv2scpbk) | 1 comments This was a community read last yr. I loved this book.

message 9: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) I read it last year and loved it. I even cried at the end when all that tragedy came. I didn't thought I was going to cry but I did. I think it was a well written book and really interesting, it was just extremely good

I love how Death was the narrator! It added a nice element to the story :)

How long did it take you to read?

message 13: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) to me, it took me like a week

Is that fast or slow to you? I'm asking because it took me almost... eh 2 months ish. I think just because it was so dense.

message 15: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) I think it was like 9 days actually, and for me that is slow. I remember reading the last page at midnight.

Andrea (alexandra14) :) Have you seen the movie?

message 18: by Laura, Books ARE my world! (new)

Laura (blueeyebooks) | 320 comments Mod
Yep! I actually saw the movie while I was halfway through the book which almost ruined my experience of the book entirely! Have you?

message 19: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) Yes, I think it was pretty good. Though, as always, the book is far better than the movie, I think they made a good adaption of the whole book.

Yes definitely! I agree with you - they did an excellent job on the movie. Whenever I watch a movie based on a book, I always try to prepare myself to be severely disappointed but I wasn't with the book thief!

message 21: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (alexandra14) I did the same thing before seeing the movie. I thought they would do a poor job with the movie, but I was Wrong.

emese toth (emeset) I am not a book cryer, but The Book Theif made me bawl my eyes out. It is so good.

I know right! The ending... I had to pause the movie because I couldn't see the screen through my tears!

message 24: by emese (new)

emese toth (emeset) I saw the movie on an airplane, but before the movie ended I landed on my destination XD

WHAT?! NO!!!

message 26: by Lottie (new)

Lottie Berinson | 2 comments I saw this at a bookshop and had to get it! I'm about to read it after I finish kings cage by Victoria Aveyard! (Which will probably take forever since I'm not liking it!) One thing you need to know about me is that the more I hate a book the longer it takes to read. But I will finish this book! I loved the first book and I still believe in Cal and Mare and Maven!

I can't wait to hear what you think of it, Lottie! It's been so long since I've read it and I think I'm definitely due for a reread soon!
