So I just started and I have to say I'm loving it so far.

So I loved this book. Just finished it. Now I have to go back and find the things I want to comment about. :P

Review: (view spoiler)[This book was fantastic. Probably the best book I've read so far this year except for re-reads.

I loved the relationship between Vika, Nikolai and Pasha. I loved the Russian elements. I loved the magic.

I felt bad for almost every character. Vika because she didn't have a mother and at the end learned that her father wasn't her father and that her mother had abandoned her. Also that she inadvertently killed her 'father'. I'm very interested to know more about her heritage. I want to know if she is so adept at elemental magic because her mother was a nymph.

I also felt bad for Nikolai. He was never really loved by anyone except Renata and he didn't love her. I also felt bad that he sacrificed himself for Vika like his mother did for him. I really hope there is some way to bring him back in the second book!

Pasha was also very pititable but in a lesser way. It felt more like a stubborn rich kid not liking his lot in life. I did feel bad that he became and orphan young and that his sister forced him to kill his best friend or the one he loved. I'm really not liking Yuliana right now btw. I hope he doesn't listen to her too much as she is TOO practical almost to a fault.

I was really sad that Sergei died and that Galina felt that she had to get a dig in at Vika about his death. I think that Sergei would have hated her for that.

Overall this book was really good. I can't wait for the next book and I really want to read it now! (hide spoiler)]

That's okay. I'm a bit behind on my BR's as well so I was lucky to be able to finish as soon as I did. :)
