I don't understand the question. Where did you see "alngroom?" The only rooms they had available were rooms with only one king bed. I can't believe they already ran out of the rooms with two beds. The lady I talked to said they didn't have very many of those.
I knew that might be a problem. Lynn and I did it in Santa Fe because the room only had a king and a couch and neither one of us wanted the couch.
I think she's talking about the hotel nights, as opposed to calendar days - most of us wouldn't stay Sunday night.I agree that the "king-only" rooms might mean that I'll have to get my own room for a change. Sherry said I kicked when we shared the king bed in Santa Fe :)
Sara, I just changed my initial note. The reservations are Thursday night (28th) through Sunday morning (Oct. 1) You can stay through Monday morning if you like, but just mention it when you reserve.Lynn, you didn't kick much. I'd be willing to risk it. I'm planning on staying at the hotel, because I don't want to miss one minute with you all.
If you're willing to risk it, I'm okay with sharing with you, Sherry :) It would feel weird to go to a convention and stay by myself!
I dunno. She sleeps hot and I'm always cold.m besides, she's using vacation time to come with me to the cabin in august.

Talked to Mary Anne and I'm going to go ahead and get a room by myself. I am up and down so much during the night that I would drive anyone crazy. But, I'm hoping we will sit up late and talk anyway. I will just go back to my room when I try to sleep.
Theresa wrote: "Did y'all ask if the hotel has cots (roll-a-ways)?"I haven't asked that, but when anyone registers they can.
I heard from the Hotel today. Here is some information they sent:"Thank you for returning the contract! All is set up in our reservation system and your booking link is in the email below. Your guests can either call in to (828) 239-0239 and reference the “Constant Reader” group or book using the link.
We look forward to having your group here!"

I just reserved a room for Lynn and me using this link, and there was a place where I could have ordered a rollaway bed. I didn't order it, though, since I don't think we'll need it.
Thanks, Sherry. Yes, I think I'd rather just share a comfy king than to feel like one of us got the short straw on the rollaway.

I just tried to book online and they didn't recognize the group code Constant Reader. Are we better off just calling them? I found this number on the site and will probably do that tomorrow: Front Desk: 1-828-2390239.
I love that free parking is included with this rate. The site says that it is $18 overnight normally and I'm pretty sure I will be driving a rental car.

Yes, I think calling them will be better. I think that is the way I did it, too, although I should tell them if the code doesn't work online.
Sherry wrote: "Yes, I think calling them will be better. I think that is the way I did it, too, although I should tell them if the code doesn't work online."I just made my reservation, and the code does not work online.
BTW, if my daughter is able to get a cheaper rate for me, I'll cancel my Constant Reader reservation to make room for someone else.

Did you call to make a reservation, Deborah?
I called the hotel and they said that the links for the groups had not been working, but they should work now. If you are still having problems, just call the hotel.
Sherry wrote: "Did you call to make a reservation, Deborah?"Yes, I did make my reservation by telephone.

Just made my reservation!!On a side note, Tom can't resist seeing if he can get lower rates on hotel rooms. When he checked on this one, he was very impressed with the rate you got, Sherry.
Wahoo! I'm already getting excited.

It's nothing I did, Barb. The hotel offered me that price and I grabbed it.
I made the reservation for Tom and me today. REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone. It's been a long, long time.
Ann wrote: "I made the reservation for Tom and me today. REALLY looking forward to seeing everyone. It's been a long, long time."Yay!
Whoopee!! I am so glad you are coming, Ann! Now, I think my Tom may be going too. It will be nice for him that there will be a few other men there.
That would be great if the other Toms can be there! Also, I was very pleased to see that Larry and his wife are coming.Ann
My dean approved the time off (assuming I can find someone to give tests for me in my classes that Friday), so I just booked my flight! I wasn't sure she would be amenable (fortunately she was), but figured I could always tell her to stuff it if she didn't like it because I'm going to retire at the end of the year :)

Hotel Indigo
151 Haywood Street
Asheville, NC
Here is the website:https://www.hotelindigo.com/hotels/us...
The dates are September 28 through October 1, but you can stay until October 2 if you wish. The group name will be Constant Reader. The price is $169 per night with free parking. Unfortunately they only have king rooms available, so folks wanting to share rooms should be aware of that. You have until August 18th to book. But please do so before that, as I will get anxious, and you don't want an anxious Doyenne, do you?
