A cute little bookstore on the corner of the street.

Iain adjusted the black cap he had on his forehead as he sat at the counter, looking at the book that he had laid out on the table and the coffee with an insane amount of whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on it. He tugged on the sleeve of his black sweatshirt, looking down at the book. To be honest, the book was not appealing to him at all. He wasn't the biggest nonfiction fan, but his best friend recommended it to him, and he couldn't hurt his feelings.
Gabi wandered over to the counter and asked the person at the counter, "Big, huge, ginormous cup of coffee! Let's break a record here!"The person disappeared to grab the coffee.
Gabi sat beside a boy, "Reading anything interesting?"
Iain looked over at the girl who has just approached the counter asking for a huge cup of coffee and he instantly wondered what record she was trying to break. Then, he sat down by her and his eyes grew wide. "Um, not really. My friend recommended it to me, and it just went from there. Nonfiction is not my type of thing to read."
"I hear you," Gabi nodded. The person who worked there brought over an extra large cup of coffee, "That'll be one dollar."
Gabi handed her exact change and then turned back to the boy, "I'm Gabriella Harper. What's your name?"
Iain watched as the worker handed her the giant cup of coffee. "I'm Iain, and it's really nice to meet you." Iain smiled. "If you don't mind me asking, what record are you trying to break?" He asked, crossing his arms across his chest.
"Well, I am really tired today so I asked the worker to break the record of the largest coffee in the world and give it to me," she sipped at her coffee.
Iain nodded, taking out his inhaler and taking a deep breath of air. "Oh. I totally understand that. Just don't get too hyped up on caffeine." Iain winked and chuckled softly.
"Well, maybe there is such a thing as being too hyped up on sugar. I mean, it usually doesn't happen to me because I'm a quiet person." Iain shrugged, stirring his drink with his straw. "I thought that you were trying to get in the record books or something." Iain stated, chuckling.
A few interesting comments came to Gabi's mind, but she didn't voice them. She just took another sip of coffee.
Iain looked up from stirring his coffee with a straw. 'Wait, were you trying to be in the record books or something? I can be the witness." He replied. "And it is just that, I honestly can't drink that much coffee. My body can't take that much caffiene in my system."
Iain nodded, giving Gabi a light smile and a nod. "Oh. Well, either way, it would have been really cool. I mean, once I tried to break a record for something, I can't even remember what I tried to do. Anyway, it didn't turn out well." Iain replied, taking another breath of his inhaler.
Iain looked down at his inhaler, slipping it back into the pocket of his pants. "Oh. That? For my asthma. Every hour, inhale, and I'll be fine. When I was little, I had breathing problems. I don't really want anything to happen that is so, drastic. Mostly anything that involves me going to the hospital."
"Yeah. I mean, nothing has happened in a long time, but I'm fine now." Iain replied, nodding as he looked over at Gabi. "What about you, Miss Gabi?" Iain started with a smile. "Tell me about yourself. I would do those flash questions thing, but they go way too fast."
Gabi laughed, "There's really not much to tell. I have a brother and a sister, Lysander and Abigail. Lysander, well he's like me, except he's in a relationship. Abigail's mom died when she was a baby, so she came to live with us. That's about it."
Iain nodded, frowning a bit whenever he said that Abigail's mom died when she was a baby. "I'm sorry that it happened, but congrats on your brother and his relationship. I have a twin sister! She goes to Blue Lake also. We are kind of, I don't know, the newbies?"
"Really? I was trying to find a different word, but I am not good with words. I rather put everything in song form." Iain chuckled, rubbing his sharp jawline and smiling at Gabi.
"Well, sort of." Iain replied, moving his hand side to side. "I mean, mostly music. Me and my sister do it together." He replied smiling as he took a sip of his drink.
Iain smiled, blushing a light pink, which he did when somebody returned a compliment to him. "Thanks!" He chirped a little bit too loudly. He liked how he wasn't so shy around Gabi, because he was shy around everybody that he came across. "I promise, it's not my coffee."
Iain shrugged and chuckled, smiling as he took a sip of his drink, watching as he stirred the chocolate drizzled whipped cream around. "I don't know. Sometimes I talk, sometimes I don't. Today is one of those days where I feel, different, but in a good way."
Iain nodding, clicking his tongue and tapping his fingers on his knees. "Is there anything that you would like to do? I mean, there's tons of things around here. A swimming pool and some other stuff."
Iain smiled, nodding. He really liked Gabi a lot. She was really pretty, nice, and his sister wanted him to meet new friends. "Okay. Maybe we can finish our coffees and go to the pool! How does that sound?"
(( sorry for the wait! i just posted at the beach bc i couldn't find the topic. + i'm on mobile, so I can't really make topics at the moment. :) ))
Tevi swung the door open and sighed happily."Nothing is more calming than bookstore smell." he knew that sounded super nerdy, but it was true. The smell of old books had always calmed him down.
Tevi rolled his eyes at Jan. "You can think that, but then you're missing out on something great." He grinned and stepped into the bookstore. It was quiet and cozy, perfect for curling up in the corner of the room and reading for hours, Tevi thought nostalgically. He missed his old library back home, it had always been his refuge away from the noisy city.
Jan scanned the room, and a book caught her eye, "Ooh, i love this book!" She held up a copy of the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
((AHHHH!!!!! Sorry, you just mentioned my like favorite book of all times.))Tevi grinned widely.
"Good thing we have the same taste in books." He glanced at another one of the bookshelves, searching for the right book. Finally he found it shoved between two series.
"A Brave New World." He held up the book to read the back. After a moment he grimaced.
"That sounds... interesting." He shrugged slightly and smiled.
((Forget almost crying, I was like a human waterfall.))Tevi looked around for a little while longer, every so often taking out a book to look at it. After a while he glanced back at Jan.
"Anything new catch your eye?"
((I think i was to shocked to cry. Stay Gold, Ponyboy. Stay Gold. *wipes a tear*))Jan shook her head, "No, not really."
((Don't even go there))Tevi shrugged.
"Do you like books in general?" He couldn't quite tell if she was a book type or not. Jan seemed relatively mysterious, not giving much about her personality away until you asked her directly.
