Who Doesn't Love a Classic? discussion

This is a re-read, but my first time on audiobook, I liked it better in audio (this is up from 2 stars), but I'd have preferred an audio based on this main page translation by John Rutherford. My youngest brother LOVED this book when he was in university and even got my dad to read it, but it's not my cup of tea.

No need to sum up this famous story, since most have heard of this humorous satire of fictional books on chivalry, etc, in which a middle-aged man driven mad by reading too many books on knights errant and chivalry, who now believes them all to be true and that he is to be one himself. This is a Very Long book, so if you choose to read it, choose your translation wisely, and if you think you'll find the humour more appealing in audio (it can help with some of the longer speeches), then by all means see what you can find and go for it. I can easily see why this is still in print over 400 years from its first publication, even if I don't love it.

Yes, and if there is any way you can get an audio recording of the John Rutherford translation it would probably be better than this translation.
