☼ Summer Break ☼ {Semi-Advanced RP} discussion
Caleb sat under an umbrella on a beach towel. He had on a pair of simple blue swim trunks and no shirt on.He had no idea where his normal clothes were. He’d just been told to change into these and then was dragged off to the hot beach.
So now he was sulking under the umbrella, absently tracking frost patterns up and down his leg. He stared out at the water and sighed. This was going to be a long day…
Now he just wondered where the one who dragged him there was.
Samantha was walking down the side of the beach, staring at the ocean. "It's so pretty..." She mumbled to herself. Seeing as she had just gotten to Hawaii a little bit ago, she hadn't had time to meet any new friends yet. The cheerful, popular side in her was starting to become sad. She loved talking to people. It might sound strange, but it was true. She continued walking and staring at the waves as they lapped the sand. She then saw a guy who looked about her age sitting on a towel by himself, looking very bored. She grinned and walked over to him
"Hello there, I'm Samantha!" She smiled and stuck out her hand for him to shake. She then sat down next to him on the sand.
Caleb's eyes scanned around the beach looking for people. No where to be found. He let out an annoyed sigh and arched his head up looking at the rim of the umbrella. "I wonder how many people are coming to this trip," he thought to himself shrugging his shoulders. Knowing the trip was free; Caleb has been in Hawaii for a couple hours now. He then stopped thinking when he saw a girl about his age walking on the beach. "Huh, she must be one of the many people who got in invite," he said to himself. When he noticed she was walking towards him, his body tensed up. "Don't come over here... Don't come over here," He thought and sighed when he realised she was going over to him.
Her voice rang through his ears like that annoying buzzing sound you get every now and then.. "Ahh.. Nice to meet you..," he said in a quite ways seeing as she already sat down next to him, there was no point on giving her the silent treatment. "My names Caleb," he blatted out.
(view spoiler)
Samantha smiled at him. "It's nice to meet you too, Caleb." Most girls wouldn't have the guts to randomly approach a guy in their own town, never mind in a completely different state! But Samantha was different. She thrived on human interaction and so she would approach just about anyone."So, I'm guessing you're here for the free Hawaii trip?" She asked. She waited to hear his response. "That's why I'm here." She smiled. "After all, who wouldn't want to accept the offer? A trip to Hawaii, all expenses paid?" It was true. It honestly was an amazing deal.
She then laid down in the sand, letting her back go against the warm sand that was heated from the sun. She sighed. "The sun feels so nice, doesn't it?" She then looked at him. "Why are you sitting under an umbrella?" She blinked. "It's much better to sit in the sun and soak up Vitamin D!" Plus it's good for tanning, but I have a feeling you don't care about that.
(view spoiler)
Caleb grinned, trying not to reveal a smile upon his lips. " why is she talking to me? I don't get it? No one talks to me.." he thought to himself. Caleb put his arms behind him and rested the palms of his hand on the sand sort pounded by shade from the umbrella, making his body look like an obtuse triangle. "Yeah, I'm here for the trip, kinda odd that it was free if you ask me.. But I'm not complaining," he said to her and moved his head looking over at her. Caleb wasn't really one to just go in vacation.. But he thought if would be good for him to get away from New York.
"The sun? Wait... Umbrella?" He looked up at the umbrella and arched his eyebrow. "Huh... How did that get there?" He joked. "Nahh, I don't know I just don't want to burn my skin off, " he explained. "But, I do like the sun," he nodded his head.
Samantha nodded. "Yes, I agree with you. It was strange that it was free, but I'm definitely not going to complain!" She grinned at him as he turned to look at her. He seems a bit shy, but I'll get him out of his shell. That was her specialty. She was really good at turning shy people into outgoing people. She's also good at match-making, but that's another story. She laughed when he looked up at the umbrella and jokingly said, "Huh... How did that get there?" She then nodded. "Ahh, so you burn easily then." She had many friends who were like him. Luckily, she rarely ever got burnt, so she didn't bother with sunscreen or anything like that.
"Do you want to go for a walk or something?" She suggested. "The water probably will feel really nice when paired with the heat of the sun." She nodded and waited for his response.
Caleb let out a small chuckle when he heard her laughing at his not so funny joke. He wasn't really trying to make a joke about that but it just randomly came out. "A walk?" He repeated and shrugged his shoulders. "Heck, why not?" He told her and stood up, when he stood up he forgot about the umbrella, and hit his head on the mettle part in the middle, knocking over the umbrella. "I didn't do that..." He said and pointed to the umbrella when he walked over to it and picked it back up and placed if where he found it.
Caleb wiped off the rough sand from the palms of his hands and knees. He then started walked down the beach and towards the ocean. Caleb hated how the hot sand burned the bottom of his feet and how he walked in the sand, he was once told he looked like a Penguin while walking on beach sand.
Samantha smiled. "Great, let's go!" She stood up and waited for him. She couldn't help but let out a laugh when he hit his head on the umbrella. She quickly stifled the laugh by putting a hand over her mouth, not wanting to seem rude. She then shook her head and put on a serious face. "Do what? I didn't see anything." She blinked at him innocently. She then started walking with Caleb down the beach. She noticed that he seemed to be uncomfortable walking in the sand. "Here, switch positions with me." She moved so that the waves would be lapping his feet. She knew that it would be much cooler for him that way. She was used to standing on black pavement without shoes, so her feet weren't affected as much by the hot sand.
"So, have you met anyone else yet?" She asked Caleb curiously. She waited to hear his answer. "You're the first person that I've met." She nodded again.
Caleb looked out at the ocean. The water was amazingly blue and clear. Totally different from the beaches he whent to in Maine. The water was also surprisingly warm and it felt great on his feet. "You didn't need to switch places with me," he told her. "I haven't met anyone eles, I just got here like four hours ago and put my stuff in the house and came down to the beach, your also the first person that I've met so far," he told her. Caleb started walking out in the ocean so now the water was up to his ankles.
"Let's swim?" He said and ran out into the ocean and once it got deep he dove in the water , going under. He came back up to the surface and flipped his wet hair out of his face so it wasent sticking to his forehead. His hair was now sticky looking. Caleb ran his hand down his face getting the salt water off his face. "Well? Are you coming in or what?l" he told Samantha.
Samantha smiled. "It's fine, don't worry. I'm used to standing on hot surfaces." She laughed. It was kind of an awkward statement, but it was true. Growing up in New York does allow a person to get many experiences. She then nodded. "Yeah, I got here recently as well. Hmm, I wonder who my roommate is going to be." She shrugged. "I didn't notice anyone in the room, but who knows?" She laughed. She honestly wasn't too worried about having a roommate. After all, it would just give her another friend to talk to, so that was good.
She smiled when he asked her if she wanted to swim and then ran into the ocean. She laughed. "Yes, I'm coming. She then walked into the water carefully, not wanting to trip over anything. When she was little, she had tripped over a rock and fallen face first into the sand. Let's just say it didn't taste too good and she didn't want the experience repeating itself. She then got over to where Caleb was and smiled. "The water feels so good, doesn't it?"
Caleb lips quivered up into a small smile. He put his arms out in front of him so he could be balanced when the waves hit him. "Yeah it sure does," he said to her. He looked over at the horizon and noticed a huge wave coming there way. "All right!" He shouted. He turned and looked over at Samantha and grinned. "On the count to five go under, try and hold your breath as long as you can, waves like these can spin you around and around and you will get caught up in the current," he explained. (view spoiler)
(view spoiler)Samantha noticed his small smile and gave him a grin in return. She could tell that he was opening up to her, which was a nice feeling. She then laughed when he cheered. Her eyes widened. "Say what now?" She looked at him incredulously. But he seemed to be completely serious. Ehh, it's always good to try new things... She then shrugged. "What do I have to lose?" She laughed and nodded. "Let's do this!" Even though she was a bit frightened, she was also excited. Yes, this should definitely be interesting.
Caleb looked at her and smiled he looked back at the wave and took her hand just to make sure she would be safe. He liked this girl. She reminded him a little bit of Jocelyn, but she was a bit more enthusiastic and he liked that. The wave came smashing down on them and he went under.
Samantha smiled and let him take her hand. She then watched as the wave came closer and closer, until finally hitting where they both were. She ducked underneath and held her breath. She allowed the currents to pull her all around.((Sorry it's short. :/))
Caleb kept holding her hand so the Current wouldn't take her away. They went spinning under the wave and before they new it they were on the shore in the gooey muddy sand. "Wasn't that fun?" He asked with a mixture of water and sand fall down his head. He turned his head and salt out some slat water that got in his mouth. "Haha,"
It was a nice sunny day today in Hawaii. Colton thought it was a good idea to use his free time to go to the beach. A little entertainment and fun couldn’t hurt to squeeze into his life. He decided to bring someone along with him; Charity, the sister of the guy whom he wanted to beat up again. He looked behind him to make sure she was still there.
Colton walked down the wooden bridge that led down to the beach. "Do you wanna sit in the shade or sun?" He asked. Seeing as she was pretty tan already he knew that she would want to sit in the sun. He walked over to a good spot in the sun and put his towel down. He looked out and noticed a few other people playing in the mud. "How strange.." He said to himself. The wind was pretty rough at this point on the time if day. His towel that he has put down blew away. "Shit!" He said running after his towel.
(view spoiler)
After a few seconds running after his towel like a 5 year kid he finally received it back. "Ha!" He thought to himself, felling like he showed to wind who's boss. Colton walked back over to where Charity was laying down in her towel. He laid his down next her hers, he arched his body down and then laid down on his back, with his face facing the sun. He wasn't as tan as Charity was, but he also wasn't as pail as a baby butt either. He felt awkward hanging out at the beach with some girl that he didn't even know.. But, the positive thing about it was she was hot. So he didn't care either way. Colton wasn't really the best at making small talk with people either.
Colton turned his head over, looking at her while she was talking to him. When she stopped, he sighed and turned his head, looking up at the sky. The sun wasn't blinding him at that moment, because the sun was behind some clouds. He didn't really know why she was so interested in him. No one wanted to get to know him. He was an outcast. A looser. He lives in on his own, with no family. And knowing how he turned out, he was like a bomb ready to explode. No way in hell was he going to tell her about himself. Unless he lied about it. And that's what he was going to do. Colton knew that she already knew his name. No need for him to tell her his. Knowing that he has probably left her hanging long enough without saying anything. He turned his head over to the side, now facing Charity again. He cleared his throat. "Nice to meet you, Charity,"

"Wasn't that fun?" He as..."Samantha held onto his hand tightly as the current spun them around and around. It was pretty scary, but at the same time, also exhilarating. When the wave finally stopped moving, they were in the muddy sand at the edge of the beach. She laughed. "That was quite entertaining." She smiled. "But I think I'm going to go back in the water and get this goop off now." She stood up. She then looked out at the beach and saw that there were some people sitting down. "Hey, do you want to wash up and then go over and mingle with those people?" She asked. "It'll be fun! And anyways, it'll be good to make some new friends!" She nodded and her eyes sparkled.
Colton let out a sigh of relief, knowing that she wasn't going to pry him into explaining himself to her. He rolled over onto his side, now facing Charity complete, the sun was hitting his backside now. His brow raised curiously when she talked about not having tan lines. "Tanning booth?" He asked. Colton wasn't really one to want to hang around people, and have small talk with them but, Charity seemed different; for some reason and he liked that about her. She didn't seem to care that he almost killed her brother, witch most girls probably would have cared. And not want to get to know them afterwords. She didn't care that he completely ignored the question she asked him about getting to know him. She wasn't one of those girls that try and gather as much information about someone the first day they meet, she was allowing him to warm up to her, rather then her warm up to him. Colton's lips quivered up into a small smile and chuckled. " bit of a random question if you ask me," he told her about her comment about not having tan lines.
Colton sat up on his towel. Feeling a little light headend and dizzy from getting up so fast in the heat. "You know, now that you mention it, going for a swim does seem nice," he said as he wiped off from sand that was sticking to his legs. He looked up at her hand and arched up his brow. "Do you think I'm a senior citizen that can't get up on my own?" He joked. He took her hand and pulled on it so it help himself guide himself up. "You know I should probably find something heavy to put on our beach towels. You know.. So they won't blow away.." He said, scanned his eyes around he beach looking for something heavy. "Ah! That could work!" He said and walked over to someone stuff and grabbed a large book that was sitting in a beach chair under an umbrella. He looked at the cover and blinked. "Well, no one will be missing this dictionary, who and the right mind brings a dictionary to the beach?" He said while walking back over to their towels. He grabbed his towel then hers and put them together and plopped the book on top of the two towels. "Well, I'm ready," he said wiping his hands together to get off the grainy sand.
Colton tilted his head to the side like a confused puppy when she suddenly took his hand. He was a bit confused by her random rage when she got all... Whats the word... Excited. Were just going for a swim.. he thought to himself. When he was being dragged behind her on their way over to the water he chuckled a bit. She was determined, feisty and down right adorable. But, he didn't let that expression get through his face, because he thought it would be awkward. When they reached the water he put his feet in and he smiled. "Well, I'm not just going to wait around, I'm going in!" He said and ran into the water. His feet were dragging; which made the salt water splash everywhere. When he noticed a wave coming he positioned his body and dove into the wave before the sea foam appeared on, and before it got smaller. After a few seconds of being under the water Colton popped up and went his hair out of his face. Doing one of those "swooshes".
@ Mystic Caleb stood up from where he was sitting. "Hmm?" He said and looked over seeing a couple of people on the beach side, laying in the sand. "Sounds like fun, we can ask them if they are involved with the beach house," he said and walked over to the water and leaned down. Making a cup-like form with his hands he scooped up some water in his hands and splashed it all over himself, getting the muddy sand off of his body. The mud dripped down him as soon as the water hit him. After a few splashes to the face and stomach, Caleb was clean again.. Well.. Clean enough.
Colton swam over to Charity doing the Breaststroke. He chuckled a bit. "Now don't say the "swoosh" reminds you of Justin Bieber, because many people have told me that before and I ended up paying for their hospital bills," he winked at her in a teasing way. Colton laid his body out on top of the water, resting there, letting the sun hit him, making it look like he was glistening due to the sun hitting his wet body. "So, what would your brother think about us hanging out?" He asked with his eyes closed and his body moving with the small waves. "Not to seem like ass or anything but what the hell his is problem?" He asked her. Colton moved himself so his body was straight up rather then laying upwards. He swam back over to her because the waves carried him away from her a little ways.

Samantha nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan to me! They look about our age, so they probably are in the beach house." She then walked into the water and quickly brushed off all of the mud and sand. Well, as much as she could anyways. Luckily, it wasn't too hard to get off, so she was pretty much clean when she left the water. She then nodded to Caleb. "Alright, it looks like we're both clean. Do you want to go join the others now?" She waited for him to respond. She didn't want to force him to go over there if he didn't want to, even though she wanted to meet some new people. And both the guy and girl seemed nice, from what she could tell anyways.

"Well, if he gets pissed at you I would have no choice to kick his ass again. He should allow you to hang with whoever you please... It's not like your fourteen," he told her. Colton stopped, and paused for a long period of time. Was he... Warming up to this girl? "This isn't good," He thought to himself. He took a step back in the water and cleared his throat. "I don't get along with people." He told her. He looked off in the distance and noticed two people around his age. "What the hell are they doing?" He said out loud to himself. Whatever it was is was certainly interesting for Colton. He looked at Charity and then back over to the other people. His started trudging through the water over to them. "Hey!" He yelled at them to get their attention.

((No worries! Mine is short too because I'm studying for finals))
Caleb walked out of the water and rubbed his hands together like he just finished a masterpiece painting. "Yeah I do," he said to her. He's gaze on Samantha vanished when he heard a yell from someone in the distance. "Looks like they beat us to it..." He said in a confused tone. "Hello!" He shouted back at him. He didn't like his tone of voice he used so he ignored it and replied with a sarcastic fun kinda voice.
(view spoiler)Samantha smiled. She started to respond but was cut off when she heard someone yell. "HI!!!!" She yelled back. She started walking towards the guy who had yelled at them. "Well, it looks like they want to meet us too!" She laughed. She then nodded in the direction of the guy and said, "Let's go meet them." She smiled at Caleb and then continued walking.
((Ahhh so short. >.<))
Caleb looked over at Samantha and ten back at the guy. He stepped in front if her. Just in case the guy was going to do something that he didn't like. "What's up?" He yelled back. Caleb looked down at her wrist and noticed the time. "Oh shit I'm late with meeting up with a friend!" He said out loud. He looked at Samantha and smiled "it was nice meeting you I will see you at the house sometime or around town," he said and started making his way off the beach.(view spoiler)
Colton raised his eyebrow as the guy left abruptly. He then ignored the girl that was with him and brushed past her, and started walking to where he left his towel with the book on it. The whole point why he walked over there was to get out if the situation that he was in before something went wrong. He liked Charity, it wasn't that he didn't. He just didn't want to get to close to anyone. The whole point on coming to this trip was to escape reality.. And it wasn't working. Colton leaned down and tossed the book of the towels he picked up his, and wrapped it around his soaking wet body. Looking back in the direction Charity was. Even though is face didn't show it he felt bad for just leaving randomly like that.
Samantha blinked as Caleb stepped in front of her and then ran off. Wait, he has friends here? I thought he just got here... She shook her head, thoroughly confused. She was about to say hello to the guy, but he suddenly walked past her and grabbed his stuff. She laughed and walked over to the guy. "You're not even going to say hello?" She raised an eyebrow playfully and laughed again. "Well, even if you're not going to be polite, I'll be polite." She grinned. "I'm Samantha, it's a pleasure to meet you, even if you don't feel the same way." She waited to hear his response. "And it's not very polite to just leave your friend over there you know." She then looked at the girl. "Hey!" She waved for the girl to come over.
Colton rolled his eyes as he saw the girl that he ignored walk over to him. He ignored most of what she was saying when she spoke. She was definitely way too "Joy-happy." What he hated more then anything, was strange people coming up to him, pretending they knew him and told him how to act. "You know you might want to bite that tongue off of yours before you talk to someone you don't know," He told her with an expressionless face. He eyed Charity as she made her way up the beach and over to her towel. He could tell that she was kinda disappointed in him.He didn't care. Seeing as she didn't say a word to him. Colton flashed the unknown teenage girl a look before walking over to Charity. He casually took out a small piece of paper with his cell phone number in it, out of his pocket. He grazed his hand down Charity's arm and stuck the piece of paper in-between her fingers. He didn't say anything to her but, you could tell in his eyes that he was sorry for having to be the way he was.
((Sorry this is so late. I had to go somewhere))
Heels in hand, Zion-Rose padded through the sand. While she may have been new, she was in no way here for some sightseeing. She needed to take her mind off the images of the tired travelers that had been her companions for the flight out here, and the beach seemed like the perfect place to do so. Running a hand through her hair, she pulled it back from her neck to let the breeze cool the skin there, which was just barely beginning to perspire.
Samantha watched the commotion between the guy and the girl and couldn't help but let out a little laugh. She saw the guy 'accidentally' graze the girl's arm before handing her a slip of paper with his number on it. So cliche. She tried not to laugh, but a little giggle escaped anyways. She watched as the girl left the beach, probably going back to the house. She then turned to watch the guy again. "Why should I bite my tongue off?" She raised an eyebrow. "You don't think that I can handle myself?" She laughed. Something that most people didn't know was that she was a black belt in karate. She then shook her head. "It's fine, I don't care either way." She paused. "But before I go, I never did catch your name." She blinked and looked at him, waiting for his response. When he responded, she smiled and nodded. "Well, it was nice meeting you." She started walking away and then suddenly called over her shoulder, "By the way, you two would make a cute couple!" She winked at him and then left the beach.

((It's fine))
Alexandre was walking back up the beach after going swimming. Water droplets were dripping down his toned abs and stomach. He saw a pretty girl out of the corner of his eye and headed over to her instead of going back to the house. It was time to see if his charms worked on her like they did on all the girls back home through he knew part of the attraction most of the girls held for him was because he was foreign. For some reason most girls seemed to like foreign boys, he wasn't sure why but ti didn't bother him as it meant he got laid.
(view spoiler)From the corner of her eye, Zion-Rose could see someone approaching her. Turning her head, she had a better view of the guy headed her way. Her brows raised as she appraised him, taking in his features as he made his way over. Cocking her head to the side, she let her hair drift back against her neck and back as she waited for him.
"Is there something I can do for you," she inquired, interested in why he'd walk over. It seemed that he'd been done with his swim, and it looked as though he might have been heading in a similar direction as she.
He smiled arrogantly as he reached her. "I don't know is there? I just came over for a chat as I don't know anyone yet and everyone else seems engaged" he asked with a smirk. He wondered whether she would get angry at him for being arrogant or respond like he had seen many girls do by batting her eyelashes and becoming all coy or would she do something completely different? He hoped his shirt was where he left it further up the beach and that no-one had taken it or he would have to drive back to the house wearing no shirt. Not that anyone should complain- I mean come on have you seen his abs.
Fate wandered down the beach. She had changed into a bathing suit, (view spoiler) and headed to the beach after. Cole was right, you could hear the beach from the house. As she walked through the sand, she smiled, feeling the evening breeze. It was getting cool out, but Fate really wanted to visit the water, just once. After reaching the beach, she sets down her bag, and takes off her sunglasses. She doesn't take the cover up off yet, as it was getting dark, and cold, but wades into the water. It was icy cold, and up to her thighs, she was freezing. She laughed though. Not many people came here, when it's dark. Besides maybe couples wanting to make out, and odd people like Fate. Who enjoy the beach no matter what. Fate didn't like water. She had a fear of it, and she didn't know how to swim. Although, she was cooped up in a house for all her years. Fate wanted to experience every bit of Hawaii, and life that she could. She feels the waves push against her legs and she stands there. She sucked in every feeling of warmth from the sun, until it disappeared just over the horizon. She couldn't see the sun, but she could feel it. It was nice, silence besides crickets, waves, wind, and birds, and cool air and water wrapping themselves around her. Fate enjoyed it, every now and then her thoughts flashing to if her bag was getting wet, and Cole. She shivered as a strong wind whipped her hair back, still standing in the water.
Fate slowly walked back to shore, until just her ankles and feet were in the water. It was dark and cold, Fate debated going back to the house. She had left the house because she just wanted to get away from all the people, all the drunks. Even if it meant freezing on a beach, it was better than listening to teens get drunk and making out, jumping off rooms. She missed her quiet home in one way, but she hated being there as well. The house, Fate considered, was actually slightly better than her own. She was allowed to actually do stuff, and actually have a bit of freedom. She got to go to the beach, and in water. It was a chance to do what Fate wanted. As a huge gust of cold wind came by, she wrapped her hands around her waist. After the wind passed, she gently dropped her hands to her side, only raising one to brush her hair out of her face. Hawaii was really warm, but after getting used to the weather, the breezes at night were cool to her. Plus, being in a bikini didn't help. She gently clasps her hand behind her, swaying in the waves. Fate thought she should probably head back, but she yearned to stay out a little longer. Giving in to herself, she stayed in the water. It was some time for her to figure out what she wanted to do with her freedom, and how she would protect it. Again though, she also wanted to see the beach. Fate had just decided in that moment, the beach was nice. Very nice.
(view spoiler)Fate kicked some water, splashing it on her cover up. She sighs and pulls it off over the top of her head. She didn't want to wear something that was wet, when it's not supposed to be wet. Fate hated it, and there was probably tons of other people who hated it too. It' just that wet socks feeling. It's gross. After a while, she sits in the sand, a few feet away from the water, putting her cover up in her bag. Fate wondered what she'd do tomorrow. Maybe she'd go back to the carnival. Get another one of those giant lollipops that she ate when she was with Ivy and Eleanor. That'd be fun, but then again she'd probably need someone to take her there. Maybe she wasn't completely free, but she did have some freedom. Right? She smiled, realizing Ivy would do it. She just had to ask her. Fate sat in the sand, pulling her knees up to her chest. Tomorrow would be a new day. She smiled and curled up, listening to the waves splash. After a little bit, she got tired, and as Fate's thoughts drifted she forgot where she was. Within half an hour she was curled up, and asleep on the beach, the water inches from her toes, and her bag sitting a foot away. Hopefully, no birds would poop on her, or the weather get bad. She didn't think of any of this before she was asleep in a bikini on a beach. That was one way to enjoy the beach, huh?

Out of all of the places in Hawaii of her new home for three to four months that she had seen, Chloe believed that she would enjoy this place the most. With so many scents running riot near the actual housing of the strangers. Marijuana, beer, body odor, being close to there made her skin crawl. Not like out here, though. Here, the air was clean and quiet, punctuated only by the occasional seagull’s cry and the rhythmic washing back and forth of the ocean. It was good to get a little break from the process of adjustment to being in such constant proximity to being in a new place. She was indeed a long ways from truly thinking this was her new home. After all.
Standing out on the beach, she kicked her shoes off. The rest of her ensemble was rather more practical for her intended purpose of exercising than her signature high slitted red dress. It was simple, consisting of a pair of tight though suitably flexible black pants and a deep red tank top and a black sports bra underneath, fortified by a few layers of bandage tape. She took in a slow, deep breath and folded her legs beneath herself, sitting back on her heels and resting her knees in the fine sand. Her eyes drifted closed and her hands rested lightly on top of her thighs as her breathing continued, deep and even.
After about five minutes of this meditation, Chloe lifted to her feet with a smooth shift of her weight and launched into running through practice forms of various martial arts. Starting with Tai Chi, then shifting into the long range and acrobatic aggression of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, followed by the solid and powerful techniques of Ba Gua, and then the precise, long range attacks of Taikwon Do, and finally shifting into the subtle and calculated manipulations of Aikido. All of this flowed seamlessly from style to style, form to form, and Chloe's mind was still.
Hands buried in the pockets of his shorts and feet sinking into the golden grains of the sand. Blake had found himself making it to the shores of the beach. He for reason wanted to avoid the house. The house had people and people meant…well it meant he wouldn’t fit. Blake’s feet carried him over to the water and he sat down, watching the bright blue ripples. The sun beat down hard onto the water as he didn’t caring for the mess he’d get on his clothes later on. It was beautiful, the scenery. He took out a black camera from his pockets—not the one given by his mom, he’d never take something that expensive out here—but a cheap one he got at the airport and took a few snaps. All he could remember was that one time his first adoptive mother took him to the beach. She made a castle with him and everything. Things had been so simple back then. Standing on the beach now, all he could think of were those good old times.
Scarlett didn't really think that the first place she would go to was the beach. She had gone to the beach a few times back in LA, but something just "pulled" her here. She had arrived just yesterday. Scarlett finished unpacking and adjusting things in her room. She had been a bit tired and jet lagged from the airplane ride. Therefore she just took a long nap and didn't get to go sightseeing. Scarlett had never been to Hawaii before. Her parents were to busy to take their children traveling on vacation. She didn't mind it. She didn't like to trouble her parents. Scarlett wasn't really dressed for the beach. All she wore were denim short-shorts and a spaghetti-strap tank top under an off the shoulder sweatshirt. A sweatshirt? In the warm weather of Hawaii? Scarlett got cold easily, but her sweater was loose and thin. She took off her shoes and carried them with her left hand. She walked on the sand with her bare feet. She liked the feeling of the gritty sand on her soft and smooth skin. She turned her focus from the sand to the beautiful horizon. She walked further to get closer to the sea. Then she felt something vibrating in her pocket. She took out her phone. She had just received a text from one of her "friends". Scarlett ignored it. While she still had her phone out, she decided that this was a good time to take a picture. Scarlett didn't like to take selfies or any pictures with herself included. She put the phone on camera mode and took a few pictures of the horizon and the beach all together. After she was done, she placed her phone back in her pocket.
Effy had been walking along the beach, unlike all others, she wasn't wearing a bathing suit- dark jeans and a tank top. Whatever. Her fingers put the cigarette by her lips, pulling it away after a moment and letting the smoke drag out of her mouth. She found a spot on the beach, not yet noticing anyone else as she sat down by the water, her barefeet barely touching the salt water. Effy couldn't help but wonder what everyone else was going- back home, back with her friends... correction, she didn't have friends, not a lot of them anyways. Connor was always the one with friends, she was always the mental little sister who sat in her room smoking. Her eyes suddenly landed on a male figure, a rather familiar one. Only seeing the back of his head didn't help, so Effy kept silent not wanting to accidentally misplace the persons name. She let the cigarette hang between her shut jaws, the smoke drifting from around it and into the air. Eventually the taste became so hard to ignore she pulled it out and pressed the burning end into the sand to put it out.
Chloe's mind was completely removed from her surroundings. Every ounce of her focus was dedicated to perfecting her art and envisioning a swarm of opponents to fight through. Each of her moves was countered by her imaginary opponents as she exercised not only her body, but her mind as well. This was an art that she had learned from her brother before leaving her home and one that she put to frequent use. A noise of a clicking camera from quite close by yanked her out of her concentration and she whipped around, right hand flashing down to the small sheath strapped to her right thigh. She sighed, leaning down picking up her towel, rubbing the sweat off her face and neck. "You know, that’s a good way to get yourself hurt, I could have easily trampled you," she told him with a annoyed glare that her training was interrupted by this guy. The smell of cigarette smoke made her nose wrinkle. Who would do such a nasty thing in a beautiful place?
