Fantasy, Magic, and Mystery! discussion

Hey all,
I just joined Goodreads pretty recently because I need to find more good books to read. Does anyone know of any really unique fantasy books? It's my favorite genre, but the stories are so recycled.

A few I've found recently that I liked were:
Keeper of the Well
Neverwhere
Thornbear

Dragons in Our Midst by Bryan Davis!! That's what the series is called. It's a great series about dragons. Also Wings of Fire is really good, it's not childlike like you would think, and Percy Jackson. :)

Thanks for the recs Eragon. I've read Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time, loved them both. I'll try Inheritance Cycle and Rosemary Sutcliffe!

What did you think of the wheel of time? It is my favorite series as a whole.

Loved Wheel of Time, one of my favorites as well. Brandon Sanderson did an amazing job finishing up the series.

Same, I just started The Gather ping Storm, which is the first book that he started helping with. It feels a little lighter. It keeps the quality and Jordan's touch.

Another good read is the Icewind Dale trilogy. It's kind of like the lord of the rings, except the storyline is a bit faster moving.

I'm back! That was the hardest hike of my life! We climbed Cotopaxi-the tallest volcano in Ecuador! I'm so tired :)

I'm not sure how many miles it was, but I know some of the stats:
Cotopaxi is 19347 feet tall at the top!

The view is amazing at 19,000 feet, but it's a little hard to breathe :)

Wow. Thats quite a ways up. I don't think I could I hike that. You'd probably have to carry me up ;) :)
