I enjoy having a great conversation with a guest, and what's even better is listening to it again as I edit in Logic Pro X. That's what I'm doing this afternoon as I prepare TKC 447 with The Author Biz podcaster and blogger Stephen Campbell. I hope you will enjoy it!

Jon (dspacenine) | 1 comments Another great episode!

I've been seeing these Cozy Mysteries around a lot but my go to genre are usually sci-fi and fantasy. Well, Stephen Campbell's mention of the cozy got me interested enough to seek one out and give it a read. I found the Goodreads "Cozy Mysteries" group and am trying out one of their current read recommendations. We'll see how it goes.

Thank you Len for always finding such interesting people to interview in your weekly program. I always look forward to listening. I put my Echo's on mute, however. Lots of "Alexa" references set her off.

Jon from Minnesota

Thanks, Jon. I'm glad you found a Cozy Mystery to read. Have you finished it yet? If so, how did you like it?

Today's show will include my interview with Timothy DeLizza, author of a highly original novella, "Jerry (from accounting)" published by Day One magazine and as a Kindle Single.

I finished the ARC of Brad Parks's new book today in time for my conversion with him tomorrow for THE 501. Closer Than You Know will be released Tuesday by Dutton. Highly recommended. I read the last 50 pages on my Oasis at Whole Foods with Darlene, enjoying an Earl Gray tea in the coffee shop. Incredible suspense and ingenious plotting resolve a taut domestic thriller. This former reporter and Dartmouth man can write!

Good catch, Marc! I thought I would post TKC 501 Friday from Austin, but that would have meant missing at least a half a day of sessions at South By Southwest. So here she is, the first of the next 500 shows, three days early! Enjoy...

Marc (westcactus) | 3 comments Ya. I should have said Tuesday is the new Friday. What will I do on Friday Len? 😝 keep up the good work!

It's like not opening your Christmas presents early. Don't touch that play button till Friday! :-)

I am about to talk with Otis Chandler for this week's show. In preparing, I was impressed to see there were 16 million members of Goodreads when Amazon announced its plan to purchase the company five years ago this week. Current membership stands at about 70 million, I believe. I love how GR is improving the integration with Kindle, especially in sharing notes and highlights. Lots to talk about in 40 minutes.

Michael (mjforgit) Goodreads is my primary source for communicating with other serious readers and getting involved with online book clubs. I'm not a fan of Facebook (especially in light of recent developments) but GR is one social media application that has retained its charm and usefulness for this reader. I do try to keep my GR "friends" list down to a few dozen that regularly share reviews, ratings and recommendations and avoid those who are using the platform for obvious self promotion.

Here's a question for Mr. Chandler if it's not too late. How come when I enter a GR book giveaway I am now required to add that book to my "want to read" list? This didn't use to be the case until just recently. I am meticulous about keeping by TBR list under control. Looking forward to the podcast Len!

Michael, I'm sorry I didn't see this before my conversation with Otis. As usual, he got me re-ignited with enthusiasm for Goodreads. Five years after the Amazon acquisition, he is still full of big dreams and an inspiring sense of mission around helping people share their passion for books and find their next favorite book. I hope you'll enjoy hearing it on Friday!

No problem Len. I had a feeling I might have missed the cut-off time. BTW, I just recently upgraded from a Paperwhite to the new Oasis and am really loving it (especially as I am an avid bathtub reader 😉). Looking forward to the next podcast.

You should try a controlled splash to see if the Oasis is REALLY waterproof! :-)
