I had a lot of fun reading this, I liked all the 80s references. I'm kind of obsessed with the circus, so this didn't have enough circus in it for me, but I liked the general carnival feel of it.
This book was fun, but it did focus on the romance too much for my taste. I was hoping for more of the paranormal aspect. I listened to the audiobook, which had decent narration, but her male voices were kind of silly to be honest. I'd recommend this book if you don't mind instalove.
This was one time the instalove didn't bother me so much, because Mara lived such a nomadic lifestyle - she mostly had to hook up and form connections fast. But yeah, I was way more interested in the other relationships of the Freeks and the goings-on than the romance.

I do think the other aspects of the book were better, and wish the best parts hadn't all been packed into the end.
