Charles Vrooman (greenpower) | 18 comments Here’s a recent article on DNA computer storage. Isn’t it amazing that my biotech thriller novel “The True Virus” came out three years ago and was based on this idea.

Soren Blackwood | 34 comments Charles, this is a fantastic and incredibly prescient post. It's amazing to see how quickly real-world science is catching up to the very ideas you were exploring in "The True Virus" years ago.

The concept of DNA as a data storage medium is one of the most profound ideas in modern science and science fiction. It raises a fascinating question: If DNA can store data, could it also store something more? Not just information, but experience? Not just files, but memories and consciousness?

This is the very "what if" that I became obsessed with and explored in my debut sci-fi novel, The Sentinel Project. In my story, the premise is that our "junk" DNA is actually a multi-generational hard drive for ancestral memory, making it the key to a 50,000-year-old mystery.

It's a thrill to see another author exploring this fascinating territory. I've just added "The True Virus" to my to-read list.
