Keeper of the Lost Cities (RP) discussion

Rissa blinked in surprise at the startlingly handsome boy who'd answered the door. "Um..." she said awkwardly, looking at James for help. This was his domain, not hers, and the so far very attractive guys were kind of throwing her off.

Rissa sorta just went with the flow and nodded a little. "I'm Arista," she mumbled, slowly regaining her position as most awkward in the group. "But Rissa is usually what I go by." She stared at her feet, feeling suddenly very weird, though she wasn't entirely sure as to why. She suspected it might possibly be the fact that she was a midgit compaired to the two boys standing near her. That or their uncomfortably noticeable good looks.

Rissa stared helplessly after James, then smiled nervously at Derek and whoever the other guy was. "Um... I'm an Astrakinetic. Or... I guess the other name people use for it is Charger."

Rissa shrugged and stayed where she was. James hurry up with the tea please. "Well... I guess I'm pretty good at it..." She shrugged again.

Rissa gratefully accepted the cup and half smiled back. "I know. But uh... I'm not good at conversation most of the time." She rubbed the back of her neck with her free hand.

"I don't know..." Rissa frowned, suddenly remembering that she'd been gone for over three hours. She rarely stayed out that long... Her mom was probably freaking out! "Uh." She looked at James again. "I'm basically depending on you right now because I'm very new to this."

"I don't have anywhere to be, no. But I hardly ever stay out this long, so my mom might be worried." Rissa shrugged.

"Well she has no idea about the Black Swan bugging me, so I guess I can just tell her something happened at my friend's place I'm going to stay over for moral support or something."

Rissa nodded, then paused like she wasn't sure. "Actually, I'm really really tired now that I've had a chance to pause and pay attention to how I'm feeling." She plopped down in an empty chair and sighed. "Is being with the Neverseen always like this?"

((Okie dokie... Imma just roll with it, but she's already told him she goes to Fixfire))

"That sounds great, thank you," Rissa said to Leo with a small smile, then she turned her attention to James. "I do, I go to Foxfire. And, I'm fifteen, but I'm a year ahead so..."

((Lol! 'Sall good))

"Well its school, so of course I don't want to go, but I might need to make an appearance in public so if my mom calls for references of my whereabouts she doesn't think I fell off the face of the earth like my-" she cut herself off. Like my brother did. She wondered if she should say something about that...

Rissa nodded slightly and looked into his eyes. She'd hardly told anyone what had really happened to her brother, most people thought he'd just moved out like every other kid his age. But as she studied James's face, she got the feeling she could trust him with the information. She sighed. "You know how I said my older brother moved out?" She started.

"Well... he didn't exactly move..." She frowned a little. "He sort of just... disappeared. Like, he was acting funny the night before, and then when I woke up in the morning to go to school, he wasn't home. And he was still gone when I got back from school. No one knows where he went, but he's been missing for almost a month."

"My family, obviously, they know, and I told one of my closest friends Larina. I don't think my sister has told anyone, but my dad works close to the council so he's been trying to bring it to their attention, since they never pay any attention to things like that themselves," she said, a hint of bitterness corrupting her tone towards the end.

Rissa's eyes lit up with hope. "Could you? That would be really great if you would..." She smiled softly.

Rissa smiled back at Leo. "Thank you." She sat back against her seat. She was actually very content now, sitting here with her chosen side.

Kinda, yeah... Actually, yes please I don't know these people like at all please stay friend. She shrugged. "If you want to. I don't want to keep you from anything you need to do..."

((*totally sneaking my phone in school right now*))

Rissa nodded. "Yeah. Thank you for setting it up and letting me stay here. I know I sorta just came out of nowhere..."

Rissa giggled. "I'll try not to burn the place down for Leo's sake then."

"That would be fantastic." Rissa nodded and stood up.

Rissa followed him and nodded. "Are there any household rules that I should know of so I can follow?"

"No problem there." Rissa has never been the nosy type, quite unlike her sister, who was always butting into other people's private business.

"Oh that's good! I prefer natural light too." Rissa nodded and looked around the room. She thought it was pretty nice, and it was about as big as her room. For some reason she'd always thought Neverseen people lived in horrible shacks.

Rissa nodded once more and started to wander around the room. "Thanks, again," she said to Derek, glancing over her shoulder at him.

As soon as he was gone, Rissa pulled out her imparter and hailed her mom. "Heyyyy mom!" She said awkwardly.

"ARISTA WHERE ARE YOU!?" Her mom shouted.

"There we go... Sorry, something happened at Larina's place and she needed me to come over for moral support." Rissa frowned a little. "I'm probably going to stay the night, if that's alright."

Her mother's demeanor changed instantly. "Oh. What happened?"

"I'm not supposed to share it yet, but I'll tell you as soon as I can."

"Alright. Well I guess it's okay," her mom said with a small nod. "Help her out as much as you can, and give their family my love."

Rissa half smiled. "Will do. Talk to you later." And then she clicked off. She let out a sigh. She hated lying to her mom.

Rissa turned to him and nodded. "Yeah. I just told my mom the story." She shrugged. "I just really hate lying to her."

Rissa suddenly felt like she was choking up. "I know it's best," she said, surprised when her voice squeaked. What was wrong with her? She looked down at herself, immensely confused, to find that she's was shaking. She looked back up at James, with the most confused expression she'd ever had. She didn't realize it, but she was, in fact, crying.

Rissa nodded. "I know..." She did know that. She felt perfectly comfortable. She slowly reached up and felt her face. Her fingers came back wet with tears. "Am I crying?" She asked indignantly. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd cried. She didn't know if she ever had cried before!

Rissa pouted. "I think there's something wrong with me because I feel just fine," she said through the involuntary tears. "I know I won't be at this place for long, and I feel comfortable here, and I feel a lot safer having chosen a side, but maybe I'm so in shock that I don't even realize how stunned I actually am." She frowned and felt her wet face again. "I don't like crying... it makes me feel vulnerable..."

Rissa chuckled and blotted away the wetness with her sleeve. "Well... thanks I guess." She sighed and looked at James with a faint smile. "How long are you staying again?"

"That's fun." Rissa nodded. "Y'know, if I could bring one thing here, I would bring Doctor, my owl." She pouted slightly. "With my luck, I'll bet my sister's cat finally ate him while I'm gone."

"Toothpaste is very stubborn though. And yeah. It's a pretty nice room, and fairly similar to my own so I should be able to settle in easy enough." Rissa shrugged.

((Well now it feels just like old times. Except for weirder...))

Rissa took a deep breath and let it out. "Probably yeah... I still have school tomorrow that I need to go to so I can set up fake alibis."

((No one understaaaaaaands so shhhhhh))

Rissa went and shut her door after James had left and wandered to the closet. It was mostly empty except for a pair of night clothes and an extra pair of days clothes. She realized that she'd probably have to sneak over to her house to get her uniform, since she didn't have it with her. She shrugged and changed swiftly into the night clothes, then went and hopped onto the bed. "Doctor... or books... or something to do while I wait to be able to fall asleep."

Rissa continued staring around her room until finally, after about another hour, she passed out from a sudden wave of exhaustion.

Rissa was already trying to convince herself to get out of bed, so when Derek spoke it gave her enough of a jolt to swing her legs out of her covers and onto the floor. "Right! Thanks for the reminder will do!" She called through the door.

Rissa swiftly changed into her extra pair of clothes and used the bathroom mirror to put her hair into a more presentable state, then she strode downstairs. She smiled at James when she reached the living room. "Today is going to be a weird day."

Rissa shook her head. "I can just grab something at my place when I go get my uniform. Which I should probably do soon, actually..."

Rissa rolled her eyes but smiled anyway. "I have my home crystal. And then I can use the leapmaster there. I've got it allll planned out."

"Easily done! Will someone just come get me after school?" Rissa questioned.

"Alrighty!" Rissa smiled and leaped to her house.

Rissa shookes her head. "Nah. I'm good for a while. I'm going to go get out of my uniform though..." She said as she headed towards her room.

Rissa, who was not quite in her room yet overheard the conversation and smiled a bit. She'd done the right thing.

She changed quickly, then walked into the kitchen.

Rissa giggled. "Well you can't be much worse than my little sister Chalise. If that's any consolation."

Rissa grinned. "That's so sweet!" She exclaimed.

"What sort of missions are they?" Rissa asked, quite innocently since she is very oblivious.
