Sorry about the late post- Computer got virus and just been repaired and the nearest working computer to me is a few miles away.

Dracula is an incredible book written in the late 1800's, taking place in Transylvania (part of modern day Romania) when an English man goes on behalf of a sick employer to a castle in which Count Dracula lives. Count Dracula at first seems like a hospitable man, but as the narrator of the journal beings to become suspicious he finds that he is a prisoner for Count Dracula. Dracula is also spotted by the narrator climbing down the high walls of a castle with his bare hands and toes. The Count also asks the narrator to write letters and date them as if they took place in the future saying he was fine and would be arriving back home shortly.

Through all this suspicious action from the Count, one can only begin to wonder what will happen to our narrator. We know that Dracula was based off a real prince who killed and enslaved his subjects for fun, and it has been meantioned many times that the Count's canine teeth are abnormally large and sharp. From this we are under the impression that he will turn into a monstrous type of person who has been concealing this for a while. We also know that when locals found out that the narrator was going to The counts castle, they blessed him and begged him not to go.

My prediction for the future will simply be that the narrator will be murdered by the Count and likely consumed. (Dracula as we know from pop culture is a vampire and vampires are mythical creatures who live forever and suck blood from humans.) The killing will likely be at night due to a vampires nature of hating the mornings and daylight which can kill them. (Notice that in the day the count is nowhere to be seen during the day but has long conversations with the narrator until midnight.) I feel like then, after the disappearance of the narrator a search party will be sent and eventually killed too, which is why there are multiple journal perspectives in the book.

Am I on the wrong forum or something? Why is no one else posting ༼ ºل_º ༽

I'm up to the part now where we are introduced to two new characters, Lucy and Mina. They are both sisters and Mina is engaged to Jonathan the narrator of the first journal I described in the post above. However, their presence in the story adds to my theory of chaos that will ensue. You see, Lucy and Mina both love the same man, Jonathan, even though he is already engaged to Mina. Lucy has gone as far to the extent to decline 2 engagements (or 3 for I can not remember) due to her love for Jonathan. As stated before, I believe people will go after Jonathan who is obviously doomed due to him being imprisoned by Dracula. The fact that he has two lovers will only add to the fact that people will go after him. We don't have much information yet but what I assume will happen is this: After getting the faked letters from Dracula (not faked but he forced Jonathan to write letters saying he was safe and would be arriving soon) and realizing they were not true, Lucy and Mina will travel to Jonathan's employer who sent him there, receive the location, and head out to Transylvania, only to discover Jonathan is dead and will soon meet his fate.

STILL no Posts???
Psst... Did you know Dracula's Castle is a real place? It's called Bran Castle and guess where it is? Transylvania! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bran_Ca...

From where I last took off, nothing very eventful in the book has occurred but my Theory of eventual chaos is developing. Mina and Lucy have gone on a trip together and Mina has begun to wonder why she hasn't heard from Jonathan in a month. This was a very brief little paragraph where Mina's thoughts run wild about Jonathan. She wonders if he is in danger, etc... But as I theorized before, they will eventually figure out that Jonathan is in danger. From here I think Mina will only be able to wait a little bit longer before temptation kicks in and she drives herself on a sort of quest to go after him. I realize now that back when Jonathan was in the castle he encountered a group of vampires called "The Sisters" in Dracula's castle from which he is saved by Dracula himself. I re-read this part of the book from the PDF Adam sent earlier and I understood a bit more from the scene then I had previously. If there are multiple vampires, then as we know from myths and legends that if you are bit by a vampire you are cursed to become one. The Sisters were probably bitten by Dracula himself, or maybe one ancient vampire who infected them all. Now, we know that if Jonathan has a search party sent after him knowing that he is somewhere in Transylvania, they will end up at the castle, and if my theory is followed, one of them will be bitten and turned into a vampire. Who knows what will happen next?

Noel | 12 comments Welll, I think that Mina and Lucy will go after Jonathan to find their one true love. And through their journey their will be a little bit of competition. Lucy could try to sabotage Mina through their heroic journey to find Jonathan first. This way Jonathan could fall in deep love with his hero. I also think that the other theoretical vampires could not possibly exist. The count probably sucks every last blood out of the human or suck the blood of the same human until it's ready to move on to the next. This would lead him to bury the dead bodies. This could also be an explanation to the blood thirsty dogs. Since dogs nature is to dog. The count use the dogs to eat the flesh of the human and bury the bodies on his territory. The count probably want to keep Jonathan trapped and suffer a little to make him feel Jonathan. This could make his food more pleasurable to him. Blood is his drug. He's addicted. And her likes the chase to get the blood. I feel like Jonathan should be fearing the count more then people who live in Transylvania because the place is foreign to him. This makes him unsure of what to expect. Like he didn't expect to have near death experiences on his trip. But people who live in Transylvania know exaclty what to expect of the count and what to fear. If they suddenly died. They probably expected it. I feel like the count is a cannibal or just mentally retarded or had a verrryyyy bad childhood. I'm very tired. And ran out of ideas. Gn
...and yes I did read the book before.

I disagree with Noel entirely. The Count isn't a cannibal, or mentally retarded, or raised incorrectly, he isn't human! He's a vampire. Reading back on my inferences of what would happen in the book, Lucy has become VERY sick. She is having her skin becoming pale, has no energy, I'm guessing a fever as well... She's becoming a vampire! (Either that or she is just going to die.) This might destroy my theory as the multiple perspectives might just be doctors for Lucy and Mina might never go searching for Jonathan due to her attending Lucy's funeral or even being killed by her if she is a vampire. Then again, Jonathan may also return... This part in the book really isn't giving me anything to work with here so I will wait until our next reading to post more.

Ok, so far my theory is right. People are being killed by vampires and becoming vampires themselves and the "Vampire Virus" is slowly raging through Europe from Lucy. Lucy died of an unknown disease and not only ended up killing multiple children and her fiancé, but did it while undead. Eventullary a few of the doctors go to see her coffin and find it empty. They return later to find her inside, laying there, and breathing, when they decide to stab her through the heart with a stake. She finally died after that. A while later Mina gets sick too showing how the virus is spreading through London.
This adds to my chaos theory as chaos is being formed. Children are becoming vampires and infecting others while people are helpless to the virus and in 1880 there were no good antibiotics. Lucy had people taking care of her and she began showing strange signs by waking up in the middle of the night, etc. But, body mutations are also happening as Lucy's normal teeth became like Dracula's. It's getting pretty exciting like Maria said, but who knows what will happen next. I'm guessing that there will be a happy ending and the virus will be thwarted.
