This book was written by Shonda Rhimes, also known as the creator of the hit shows Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and many other amazing tv shows. In this book, Rhimes gives us the details of the adventures she went on during the year that she refused to say "no" to any opportunities that came her way. Imagine saying “yes” to every single thing in your life. In my opinion, this experience would be extremely exciting. I really enjoyed this book because I am completely OBSESSED with Shonda Rhimes, and also because the whole idea of the book was extremely appalling and eye-opening. I typically do not jump at the opportunity to do something out of my comfort zone, so reading this book allowed me to notice that it's ok to expand your horizons every once in a while and take a few leaps of faith. I recommend this book if you enjoy a mixture of comedy and interesting life stories because this book has both of those things. It is not a tough read but it can get confusing if you do not pay attention over the course of the book. Also, it is a good choice because if your diligent, you can finish it in just a few days.

I echo Gabby'as sentiments entirely. Having loved watching programmes from Shonda Rhimes, I was curious as to what a book written by her would flow. I wasn't disappointed. A good read
I read this book because of the title. I had never heard of the author and do not watch any of her TV shows. I was very pleased to get to know this author and find her to be an inspiration to women and girls! I completely related to her challenges with parenting and laughed out loud at her response to being told only home baked goods were to be brought to the school for a mandatory function. I also love that her year of yes also meant saying no to some situations so that she could say yes to what was best for herself. I was inspired to initiate my own year of yes after reading this book! Thank you, Shonda Rhimes, for a wonderful read!
I loved this book, honestly - I have been saying 'No' constantly to everything that scares me, everything that might be risky, everything that could impact others (or go the other way and be a positive impact- but I always played it safe)... I have been holding myself back for a really long time and as a former obese women, myself, I related so deeply to her relationship with food. The difference was... I admired her confidence that I never had. I laughed and I was sad when the book was over.
I feel the same. Love her tv shows and really enjoyed reading her book. Have to say, I've been saying YES to a lot more things since reading it!
I listened to the audio version of this book and loved it. Shonda is truly an inspiration and a talent beyond compare. I've shared this title with several of my friends as a must read.
Loved this book sooooo much, lots of her advice and guidance I have written down and living by day by day. And of course I’ve been saying Yes a lot more too.
