Hey Everyone,I didn't see a welcome thread so I thought I'd introduce myself here. My name is Justin and I'm an author and poet. I enjoy dark horror poems and love Edgar Allan Poe. My love for dark poetry and Poe inspired my first work, The Macabre Masterpiece: Poems of Horror and Gore. Always looking for new poetry writers and readers and I look forward with discussions with you all. :)
Hi, my name is Angel Chadwick. I'm an author of several genres, including gothic poetry. I write extremely dark and intense poetry. I love Edgar Allan Poe he is my most favorite author and I love his works, "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee" among others are my most favorite of his works. Looking forward to meeting more writers and readers of dark poetry.
Hello and welcome Justin and Angel! Look forward to having some discussions here, poetry, stories, its all good. Love seeing more writers join up as well.
Hello everyone. I am an author of a paranormal book series (only book 1 is published so far. Book 2 will hopefully be out within the next 6 months or so). Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickenson were favorites of mine in high school, among others.
Welcome Tricia! I find that the more of Poe I read the less I like his non-horror writings lol. Wading through his complete works is trying on me.
Hi! I'm Lisa Sisneros and I'm an aspiring novelist working on my first paranormal romantic suspense series, a sort of modern-day, rock-infused 'Phantom of the Opera' with lots of gothic touches. I love all things dark, mysterious and beautiful, not so much horror or gore, but I'm open-minded. :) I'm a huge Poe fan, too, and love gothic themes in music, books and fashion. I dabble in poems here and there, but I rarely share them with anyone IRL because they're all deep and emotional. Most people look at me like, 'Oh. That's...nice.' Haha. Anyway, I'm a bit of a lurker, but I'll try to contribute. This is a great group--it's always fun to find members of your tribe!
Welcome Lisa! Good to have you on the group, it's ok to lurk if you wish but don't be shy we are all friendly here.
Hi, I'm a published horror author and my favorite writer is H.P.Lovecraft. I enjoy Poe, King and Koontz and prefer intricate tales of fear and insanity to blood, guts and gore. I'm excited to be part of this group. I love poetry but cannot write it myself, so I'm really looking forward to reading some disturbing poetry and sharing some unique horror prose.
I'm normally active in discussions and look forward to sharing with all of you.

Hi, welcome! Check out the Gothic Poetry Bookclub here.
Hey all, sorry I haven't been active on this group. I'm a member of like 15+ groups so it's hard to keep track of them all. I am going to be more active in this group and definitely next month since it's National Poetry Month. Looking forward to conversing and sharing poems with you all!

Welcome Emm and Christine glad to have you with the group.
I agree with you Emm that poetry can be just as evocatory, for good or bad, as music, or for that matter any sensory impression.
Christine I find Lovecraft to be one of my favorite authors as well. Alot of the writers from his circle of friends I enjoy quite a bit. I too enjoy the intellectual horror far more than gore horror. If you can frighten my brain and send shivers down my back its all good. Gore to me has its place but nonstop throughout a work I just get bored with it.

Totally understand Justin. I am a member of alot of groups too, most for ideas on what to read rather than overt participation, but add the nice weather and work to do out of doors then I have boatloads of trouble with being active on the groups LOL.

Sometimes I see a good post in certain groups and just forget where it is and before I know it I'm posting in 5 and never get to check out another I usually don't post in.
