This thread is a list of guidelines specifically for authors on the group.

You are welcome here. Without you, we wouldn't have interracial books to read. Having said that, we have expectations for you as members of this group.

Why Our Philosophy on Promotional Activity: This is a group for members who appreciate interracial romance of all kinds. We want to create a friendly, open environment. In other to do that we need to have guidelines. In this case, for author-reader interactions.

Readers don't want to feel pressured to read books. They like the opportunity to be exposed to new authors in a relaxed way in which they have a choice to pick a book without having that book forced or them or feel guilted into reading a book . As such, authors should not take advantage of this environment to push their books on readers.

We have provided many opportunities for authors to promote their work:

*Introduction: You are welcome to introduce yourself in the Introducing Thread as an author. Do not include a link to your website or other excerpts or promos. You can say that you have posted a promo in either the coming attractions or promotions folder. Why? We don't pressure group members into reading books. That's always voluntary. Your linking to books in the introduction folder is involuntary for a reader.

*Coming Attractions in Interracial Romance Folder:
You are welcome to create a thread for your newly released or re-released work that will stay in this folder for three months. After that, it will be moved to the Promotions Folder.

*Promotions Folder; This stays open and is available for authors to create threads to promote their works. You are welcome to promote giveaways here (or in the coming attractions folder for new releases). You can create a new thread for any new giveaway that comes up for your work.

*Theme and Category Threads: You are welcome to suggest your book once in the applicable thread. Please do not post excerpts here. You are welcome to include a link for your book on Goodreads or another bookseller website. You are not welcome to create a thread just for your book under this section. That is not the purpose of this folder.

*Excerpts Folder: There are folders for both spicy and clean excerpts. You may post them there. Please create a separate thread for your book excerpt or you can create one thread for your own work and post multiple excerpts there. Do not post excerpts for your book on another author's thread. Please do not post excerpts in any other place (other than in your own thread in the Promotions section).

*Writing/Industry/Craft Discussions: We have an Author/Writer's Corner Folder for these types of topics. You are welcome to create thread asking for general reader feedback for authors or craft questions. Please do not use this as an opportunity to belittle readers who badmouthed your books. Please do not link to specific comments from a reader. Keep things general and do not use names. You can even post writing blog posts here. There is also a folder for writing opportunities. You can post things of that nature here, such as submissions requests, beta reader need, or editing servicies.

Other No-Nos:
*Creating a Thread For Yourself Under Specific IR Book or Author Folders (this is reader-generated content)
*Nominating your book for the book of the month
*Nominating your book for other reading challenges
*Bringing your book up randomly in random discussions that have nothing to do with your book in subject matter.
*Confronting members about your books. We ask you to be judicious in engaging in the monthly group read discussions if your book is the book for the monthly read.

Please Note: If authors do not follow these rules, your posts and threads are at risk for deletion. Authors who are continually in violation may be warned they are at risk of or may be removed from this group.

1. Clean IR Fiction
2. Spicy/Erotic IR Fiction
