Hi!
I have been enjoying your booktube and thrilled to learn of this group as I like the idea of reading books by women authors (girlpower!) from around the world. I tend to mainly read US or UK authors for some reason so this gets me branched out to see books from other places.

I'm 47, married, and we have two boys ages 10 and 17. I live in my homestate of Virginia and work full-time. I've enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. A house without books puzzles me. LOL

I have a youtube channel called THE SAMPLER GIRL KNITS AND READS where I post individual videos about knitting and reading.
For link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDaS...

I am fairly new to the world of booktube and can't get enough of it!! My TBR list grows daily.

I am happy to be in this group!

Daphne (daphnerieke) Hi ladies! (No men around??) I'm Daphne, 30 years old and I'm from the Netherlands. I try to read more diversely and just stumbled upon this lovely bookclub! Really looking forward to dive into the world of female authors, worldwide!
I already read Persepolis (it warmed my heart for Iran, and for graphic novels!) and will try to get my hands on a copy of the November book.
No channel on BookTube or blog, but I'm subscribed to a lot of amazing bookloving ladies out there and try to add a comment every now and then.
Happy reading!

message 33: by Marie (new)

Marie (marieemonaghan) | 59 comments Hello all - I'm Marie from Manchester, UK. I've been trying to expand my reading horizons and read more widely from different nations, but am finding it harder than I anticipated to discover books by women in translation. So I was delighted to discover this group.

Keen Booktube watcher but not creator, and I'm on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/girlvsbooks...

I've ordered May's book but I don't think it will arrive in good time. So very much looking forward to taking part properly in June.

message 34: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (modica03) | 82 comments Hi Marie!

Glad you're joining in! I started reading with the group last fall and have been very happy with the book selections. I agree with you, it's hard to find good books from international female authors. Now for Chappy! :)

I am also on BG @wanderlustforwords

Stacey

message 44: by Biblibio (new)

Biblibio | 3 comments Hi all! I'm Meytal, @biblibio and @read_WIT on Twitter, founder of Women in Translation Month and all that. :) I'm not a huge Goodreads user (I always say I'll get better at it and then... don't), but I'm doing a new project for WITMonth this year and have a feeling that it might be of interest to this group! (Also, this group is DEFINITELY of interest to me and I'm loving going through the backlog for new recommendations!!)

Basically, I'm compiling a list of the "100 Best Women in Translation", as voted on by readers! Everybody gets to nominate up to 10 books that were written by a woman in a language other than English (so it's okay if, like me, you're a bilingual reader who has read books that have never been translated into English!). No genre limitations. The deadline is August 25th and I'm trying to reach as many readers as possible to really make this a representative list. Please feel free to message me your nominations, tweet at me, message on Instagram (@readwit), whatever!

Anyways, hi! :D

I'm on Instagram as @readwit and I do technically have a Youtube that I hope to upload a video too (probably also Twitter and Instagram? I don't know yet!), and of course any other way to get the word out is awesome. :) The only thing is that I'm collecting the list by hand, so people really do have to send the titles to *me* specifically, hah!
