Just finished the book and now I may have to buy the next one and start reading it. Not exactly sure how to start the discussion but would love to participate one if anyone else wants to discuss it!

*** spoiler Alert ***I thought the development of Aidan was amazing. I am about to order the next book to see if he develops even more. He shocked me in the deceit. Also, Ezra had mentioned that Aidan couldn't lie, but he purposefully lied to Kady twice. Do you think his development allowed him to lie or was it an inconsistency in the writing?
I think him lying could either be from the damage he suffered or he justified it because he was acting for the good of the fleet. I also wonder if it indicates his evolution? As he speaks to Kady, he is becoming sarcastic and trying out humor and even questions what he feels for her. I just got Gemina too! Excited to start it.
(view spoiler)
I was thinking it was more of his evolution. I just picked up gemina today, excited to read it but I probably won't be able to get to it until next weekend
I thought AIDAN was brilliantly written. I hated him but I totally understood his logic, even if it was flawed. So intense!
UGH JUST FINISHED. That together page though. So awesome! Also right when their IMs started at the end I was like OH NO ITS E'S MOM! Gosh the twists and turns were so good. I loved it so much! I need to pick up Gemina SOON!
UGH YES.
I totally didn't predict that Ezra's mom ran BeiTech! I should've, in hindsight, but it totally threw me!
How does everyone feel about AIDAN? That was some dang good writing.

Yes! I was nervous it wouldn't be as character-driven because I LOVE character books but it was brilliant! And the format was so wow. It was a total reading experience!
I honestly think Aidan might be my favorite character. He is just so logical in his choices. I also like how they talk about saving the many and sacrificing the few, but you still have the crazy love of a teenager who then makes insane decisions and risk her life
Yes! I ended up really, really loving AIDAN. He was so different to read about. Sometimes I was nervous they were writing him with too much emotion, but the way it built just seemed right. Like he was evolving, like you said earlier Kyle.I love how it was like, all character driven, haha. I wasn't expecting that! It made it so much better. Even the side characters! So amazing!
AIDAN was such a brilliantly complex character! Even though it was definitely insane and an AI gone haywire, I honestly understood every thought process behind its decisions, even if I didn't agree with them.
I also agree with Kyle's thoughts on AIDAN evolving! It was a really steady growth, which I was pleased by.
Yes, the characters in this book were phenomenal, which isn't something I expected either! It seems like it'd be plot driven so I was pretty psyched about that.

I also enjoyed AIDAN's character a lot! He's so flawed but he believes he's doing the right thing and carrying out his mandate. He was such a good "hero" that way.
