Etched in Bone (The Others #5) by Anne Bishop (Start Date: April 01, 2017)
I've got the audio and the hardback. Sometimes I can't speed the audio up fast enough to gobble down the books in this series. LOL!
Geeze, Louise! I just realized I'm going to be gone this coming week-end. Well... gone all day and driving home to sleep. **sigh** Maybe I'll be able to listen to the audio while driving to and fro. Eeep!
I'm done till chapter 12. It is really slow-paced. Had I not been so invested in these characters already I'd have had a hard time continuing.

I am on Chapter 10 and really loving it so far...I think one of my favorite aspects of this series is how the terra indigene, especially the wolves, have innocent moments with the humans...for example, at the beginning of the book where they are chasing the bike playing but the human was afraid, or when Simon wants to play games with Meg...I just think their naivety with the humans is adorable....(view spoiler)

I finished it today, and you all are going to love the last chapter!I think I'm going to rate this one 3.5 stars because it dragged in the middle but that last part was so sweet.
Gisela wrote: "Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Good theory!" (speaking of Theresa's)I concur! Can't wait to find out.

I hate it too. He's scum!
Loved Twyla for recognizing Skippy's courage and taking him under her wing. I think she'll get him to do more than he's been able to.ETA: Actually, I loved the whole dinner scene.

I finished it last night and really enjoyed it too.
I love these characters and don't mind reading about them doing nothing except interacting with each other.
I wanted more about Skippy and if he can change again and do it better.
One thing that's bothering me is the elbow thingy, it never went anywhere! Why was her elbow hurting? The author either should have explained or just left it offthe page.
ShoSho wrote: "I love these characters and don't mind reading about them doing nothing except interacting with each other."Yes, I think whatever magic AB applied in the first book has carried me through the rest of the series. There is just something about her world that I just love spending time with these characters, in their daily life, even if they're just painting an appartment. Or watching someone else paint it. LOL!
Theresa, I'm resisting clicking on your spoiler until I finish. Aren't I being a good girl? LOL! (I'm a BIG spoiler clicker.)
Lisa Kay wrote: "Theresa, I'm resisting clicking on your spoiler until I finish. Aren't I being a good girl? LOL! (I'm a BIG spoiler clicker.)"I can't believe that you are not clicking :D
It's not often you find a good character driven story especially in urban fantasy. I agree about the elbow.

Finished. Loved it. Jimmy was truly a creep; hating reading his part. **shivers** Agree about the elbow thingy. Huh? And hey, stupid question. Is Skippy still half and half? Did I miss something?

After a human uprising was brutally put down by the Elders—a primitive and lethal form of the Others—the few cities left under human control are far-flung. And the people within them now know to fear the no-man’s-land beyond their borders—and the darkness…
As some communities struggle to rebuild, Lakeside Courtyard has emerged relatively unscathed, though Simon Wolfgard, its wolf shifter leader, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn must work with the human pack to maintain the fragile peace. But all their efforts are threatened when Lieutenant Montgomery’s shady brother arrives, looking for a free ride and easy pickings.
With the humans on guard against one of their own, tensions rise, drawing the attention of the Elders, who are curious about the effect such an insignificant predator can have on a pack. But Meg knows the dangers, for she has seen in the cards how it will all end—with her standing beside a grave
