Long time
And I know that's its been a long time but
It's like we just can't win,
And it's like your hands, they keep on knocking
Patterns in my skin.
It's like you don't know what's wrong though
You apologize so sweetly.
It's like you can't change even though
You promised me.
It's like the world keeps turning over
And we're just caught in between,
Your fists still knocking patterns
In where they can't be seen.
It's like I've waited forever
For you to come back from the brink,
It's like nothing ever changes
And your eyes keep messing with the way I think.
I don't know what to do this time.
I've said "one too many" one too many times.
I'm tired of hauling myself off the floor, alone.
Tired of looking out the door to see if your anger's grown.
It's like this never ending pattern has no changes.
It's like a disease where no one finds the cure.
It's like the world is crashing down around my shoulders,
And though you say you love me I can't do this anymore.
I make my mind up that I'll tell you.
I tell myself you won't ask why.
I forget you always bring me roses,
I forget how hard you make me cry.
The next time I'm on the floor I know I'm stupid
But somehow all but you to me is strange.
The next time your fists leave patterns I'll just sigh, my love
Some patterns are just too hard to change.
And I know that's its been a long time but
It's like we just can't win,

Patterns in my skin.

Oh wow this contest ended a while ago and for some reason I thought the end date was the 23rd not the 13th oops

Any type of pattern, from a flannel pattern that holds lots of memories to simple stripes or animal patterned. Or maybe the pattern you want to write about is some banana pattern, it honestly doesn't matter!
